@@thegarageetc I find brakes on delica not good enough cos of sheer weight of the vehicle and my add ons will have to buy some bigger rotors I guess. Tnx though!
Just to let you know my engine has the exact same leaky air sound on the left by the power steering. Sounds like a vacuum leak but I checked everything and couldn’t find any issue. Let me know if yours turned out to be something but I think it’s just normal.
Hi I have the same engine Delica and was wondering did you ever replace the spark plug wires? I need new wires and don’t know that part number to look for.
I reused the old ones after buying aftermarket that did not fit,. Delica intakes are unique so the length of the wire is important. if I was doing it again I will just buy MSD cables kit with the right boot length and cut to fit.
@@thegarageetc oh ok, yeh I know the original part number is MD173402 but was hoping you would know any other part numbers that can replace those. I know the length is important and don’t feel comfortable making my own so was hoping to find premade replacement.
@@FocusWithJason I do not know another part number. to make the cables is pretty easy , they even come with the tools and there is tons of youtube videos
Thanks for the video! FYI I believe you need to set the torque wrench at 90 degrees to apply the same 11Nm to the bolt. If the wrench is 30% as long as your torque wrench you’ll have about 14.3Nm from the orientation used if my math is right. Reference searches for torque wrench with crowfoot wrench
ohhh that is interesting, in fact yesterday I was watching a video and someone was using an adapter and they were setting the torque wrench straight, thanks for the tip
@@thegarageetc good to hear. I overtorqued and than backed up right away when I replaced mine last year but it seems to be seeping again so I'll likely have to redo.
if you torque it like the manual says, you will destroy the gasket. When I got the car mine had no gasket and was leaking a bit but it looked like an old job so I assume the previous mechanic removed the gasket due to this issue( it was done at Acura)
Great video! Thanks for the part numbers for that tensioner pulley bearing! It's crazy how much the Delica parts places/importers upcharge for stuff you can buy down the street.
Is this the right part number for both? 15825-PR3-005 It says "main gasket" so I wasn't sure if the other side got different part number for it. Thanks in advance 😁
190 Deg for 22 minutes in an oven is all you need. A heat gun may be needed of you don't get it completely apart before it cools off. Anything hotter will damage the plastic.
I have a 2001 Delica. I started having a few leaks. If I took a few pictures, could you help me in diagnosing what it could be? I would like to fix it myself. Thanks 👍
Great job on that custom radio build using the modular retro sound definitely want the keep updated on sound quality once hooked up with the RCA outputs to an amp on those components!
you can use a allen to move to gear one tooth just tighin the belt down and if u need to move a tooth back put the allen in the back of the gear if u need to move a tooth forword put the allen in the front of the gear alway roll the motor over the way u need to go the belt will roll over the belt and move one tooth dont past 4 teeth out of time u will bend a vavle
Hey sir ! Can you tell me what you ended up to do for the tensioner ? Is it only putting tension while the engine is running so you were fine or you did something ? Thanks !
yes I had to push it back and put the pin back again otherwise you will not be able to take the tension out, thankfully I saved the old pin but you can use a small drill bit to do it
I just did this to my 2000 Montero sport. I just fixed the leak at the rear camshaft seal above the starter. I had trouble getting the o ring so i made a gasket where the camshaft thrust plug meets the head. Works great used a cereal box.
Have a 2003 Mitsubishi Outlander 2.4 and need to do the same my question is when u put top dead center and I zip tie like u did, would the belt at the bottom come off track?
you have the patience of a saint. my god, the work involved in this engine refit has been huge. I have watched them all with interest as I own a V6 petrol 2005 - 6G72. I have a leaky rocker cover that will need doing soon. Even the prospect of getting to the covers terrifies me.
Hi Dave, thank you for the comment. I think anyone can do this with the proper planning and tools, it is just a bunch of bolt, nuts and metal pieces :) a metal lego
@@thegarageetc Sorry... I forgot to ask..?? How much time would you estimate to completely remove the front bumper..?? I appear to have an issue with fitment, I think there maybe some damage. Thanks
I didn't think I could get the trunk release wired up so I took the left vent off. After you do that, it's really easy to get to the wire for the trunk.
