I think most musicians (across all genres) neglect the 1-5 range of the dynamic spectrum in favor of 6-10. I LOVE the super small grooves and tones here. Really takes us on a journey. Bravo!
pretty good, reminded me some robin thrower even some jeff beck and even a bit of roy buchanan. as the others commented, it wouldnt have the same effect without the drum and bass's flawless rhythm pillars
Once I compose myself I'll give you my response..................................................... That kind of feel........um......comes from a much higher realm.........😭
Imagine thinking a master of his craft is all over the place. Listening to the music but not hearing it, feeling it. This is one of the most tasteful solos ive ever heard.
Ariel is arguably the best technical guitarists of all time.. School trained dudes are more technically correct, but this guy writes all his own music and experiments with different tuning and guitar technology. He was been playing this song for years, and every tour he does, and ALMOST EVERY SHOW, he changes the solo up. Look up all the different versions of "Angeline" and enjoy. AMAZING
Spent so many nights in my 20s and 30s (I'm 61 now) in many of Pittsburgh's little venues listening to awesome local talent....mostly blues and blues/rock. Glen Pavone (and the Cyclones) was always a favorite. And when they would cover VooDoo Child, Glen would practically go into a trance during his solo and take the audience there with him. It was something u just had to experience live to understand....and if u know, u know. R.I.P. Glen. Gone too soon (I believe he was 52 when I'd heard he passed a few years ago) The Hellhounds with Lenny Smith also another example of huge talent that was one of Pittsburgh's best kept secrets
It was a GOOD solo. I think I liked the way he and the band built the solo more than the actual solo itself. Good tone, good slide skills. Kinda wish he opened up a can of whoop ass but hey, it was definitely better than the status quo.
It is a great slide solo. Slide isn't my thing, so It's not my favorite. I can and will give props to the man for his talent and his mastering of slide guitar.
