The Sanderson shorty headers FF390 I believe was the number DID NOT clear the steering box on my 64 Galaxie. I had to beat a flat area on the #7 tube and the #6 tube, that was at least 1/4" deep to leave about 3/16" clearance . New mount cushions, so that wasn't the issue. Poor manufacturing tolerances. If I had paid for ceramic coating I would have been REALLY pissed.
@@davidkeeton6716 oh wow man I hate that! After we jacked the motor up these basically fell in place. As you know there is no extra room in these cars so it was tight but we did have clearance everywhere.
@@shift_points Back in the day, so to speak, they didn't always have red on the battery cable - when you charged the battery, jumped the vehicle or installed a new battery you knew that the larger terminal was the positive.
@@rockymarquiss8327 that makes sense. This Fairlane had a red wire on the ground and a black on the positive so I should have paid more attention to it sooner 😂
What's with the disrespectful comments? This was a helful video, I could have used this tool but already bought new cables from a guy that probably did exactly as shown here.
@@blackjack8314 best I can figure I have made 2 sets of battery cables with it and it has already saved more then the $60 I paid for it. But you do you man!
@@tinycockjock1967 so first off check out the full length video. It goes into a lot more detail! It is linked. What you are seeing isn't "wrong" lol enlarging multiple areas essentially on the exhaust side of a cylinder head can give MAJOR power upgrade to the engine. Why this is "bad" here is because the rules state that no modifications can be done to these heads. They have to be purchased and used exactly how they are out of the box. I hope this helps! We are planning more videos like this so any other questions let me know and we can make sure to cover it in more detail later.
Just like my yesterday Saturday trying to fish pre bent stainless brake lines around the frame to end up with leaking DOT 3 at every unions after all was triple checked…. Sure love my Big Galaxie though.
@shift_points All ready subd sir!!! Tech is fun to me but some don't like the numbers and stuff lol. I'm doing a Ls3/6L90E swap in a 03'Crown Vic Police Interceptor. It's a project with my grandkids. I started making videos for my grandkids and a couple of them started getting involved. ( PROUD grandpa here lol). I am not good at ideas tho sorry. But will watch sir.
Forever Stupid Association Rules to save money that end up costing every one more...For example, Crate Engines, Cost you 5 -6K and you can not repair them yourself, I say, run what you brung that uses identifiable stock markings, then make it claimable for the same price as a new one, by any driver in the top 20 of the association, in cash, at the track, after the main event....
@@regdor8187 That sounds like you are on to something! People start up series everyday. All we can do is try and make sure everyone is following the rules set and make it an even playing field. Hate to have the everyday guy run out of the track because the big money teams can run high dollar equipment and blow everyone out of the water. We appreciate you watching!
This a riv-nut tool. Things are really neat at times. My main use so far has been to bolt wall mounts onto the toolbox music in order to use the sides efficiently for storage.
@@flippingdrummer It's a pretty handy tool! Works really well up to 1/4"-20 bolts Anything bigger Dad built his own tool that's a lot easier on the hands/arms lol
Probably a while, carb parts don’t need a lot of torque, I’d be more worried about plastic shavings clogging small passages inside once they do start to wear
@@bradydevergilio7478 it isn't a run of the mill plastic. It's a nylon with chopped carbon for reinforcement. These things are super durable. Plus you don't need to be torquing down on carb parts a lot anyway so they will last a long time.
@@robertbowman1972 that's a fair worry and I didn't see this until after I made the first comment, but this material doesn't shred and tear like "regular" plastic! Super durable.
I also like the fact at least on a Miller 180sd that you can go back to the pedal simply by unscrewing the button connector on front of machine and screwing the pedal connector back on if needed.
Could it be possible that this valve can restrict the flow of gasoline? I installed an electric fuel pump because of the vapor locking issue. Its seems like it is starving on fuel. It cuts off and will start right back up. New fuel lines, rebuilt carb., complete new distributor, The problem started right after I installed the electric fuel pump. I tried 3 different electric fuel pumps with the same result. I just installed a 5-9 psi pump thinking the 2.5-4 psi wasn't enough psi, it did help but it still dies out as if though not enough fuel. The pump is mounted on the frame under the passenger door.
@@Beast2011ps I can't say for sure because it have not done it. But there are fuel filters between the tanks and this valve. Those could be blocked. Or it is possible that the filters are old and have let pieces get into this valve. Go over to the community tab on our channel and you will see a diagram that shows the filters. Just a guess to be honest!
