HDPE offers high strength and durability well suited for furniture, playground equipment, while XPVC is low density & lightweight due to its expanded cellular structure best suited for insulated and non weight bearing applications. 05/23/2021: I viewed RU-vid videos on how Richlite is made. The videos showed large sheets of special paper soaked in a liquid (resin?). I am looking at buying a Martin Special GPC All-Solid Grand Performance Acoustic-Electric Guitar Natural, which has a Richlite fretboard. The only bad review of this guitar was like most guitars, it doe not have a rolled fingerboard edge. So, if I sanded it to take the sharp edge off, I do not want to see paper layers. Also, if in time my fingernails will dig into the fretboard and I will want to sand that out too without seeing any paper layers? So, can the fretboard with Richlite be sanded and not see any paper layers or see any damage at all? See @/637 in this video. @
