4:00 If you fall from this height (180-200m), you will die instantly☠️ At that time, the U.S. military has sowed the seeds of Tagantagan (a kind of Ginnem family) in this area to the present day. ( Under Japanese rule, the production area of cane)
Why is there no American flag flying now? I understand we gave the island back to Japan in the late 70s but there should still be an American flag flying over that island atop Seribatchi.
Though I appreciate and enjoyed seeing your video, I am sad and find it unfortunate that you did not bother to fully show, elaborate and explain the Japanese memorial sites. Whether you like it or not, they are part of Iwo's history and past. I'm therefore left with only half an Iwo visit.
Alan...thank you for your comment. Well appreciated. It seems you are correct. I only did have the one view of Iwo. It's not as though I dislike the other parts of Iwo's history, time is usually a factor when a person can go out there. If I am afforded the opportunity to return, I will definitely make sure I get both sides of the story. Thank you again. Have a great day.
Looks like you found a quite a few items layed out on the table...wish I could have got a better look at them and maybe an explanation of what they could be....only could see the .50 cal bullet.
Zipshed...thank you for your comment. This was part three of the Rota experience, there are other finds in those videos. I do understand that we did not get too good of a shot of the finds. My apologies.
So amazing. Wonder what 3500 years ago they thought of the solar eclipse? Evidently they thought it was important enough to have it in their cave drawing.
Paul...thanks. Glad you enjoyed it. If thing goes well I might be going to Germany in late July for a little training...Might have to bring my detector there....lol But otherwise the next should be in Japan.
Last video of this epic series. It has been a fantastic adventure and to see the last episode follow on into this link. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bvM2vMGflOc.html
Final installment of the epic adventure into Rota. Make sure to check out the full Pictograph cave video...it's amazing!!! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Pyr0JwxKCcc.html
Thanks for the interesting video....was planning on buying a metal detector and wanted to ask if there are any places to buy a good one in Japan or would it be better to buy one overseas...thanks.
David...thank you for the comment. Metal detecting in Japan is not a big hobby so it is hard to find a metal detector there, or at least it was a few years ago, I was lucky enough to get mine off of Amazon and if you check some of my detecting videos, I have the metal detectors that I use. Keep in mind, all detectors pretty much do the same thing. You definitely get what you pay for. Also, detectors are meant for the person, I like one brand but you may favor another, its all good because at the end of the day...we both find pull tabs...lol
Hey, dude. I work for CNMI PSS. Thanks for talking to our kids while you were here. That must have been really cool. Hopefully the kids were good to ya
Thank you for having me. I am honored I was able to talk to the kids. The kids were awesome and asked a lot of great questions. The most asked question was how many subscribers to I have....lol
that globemaster wreckage you saw was crazy i read that the entire crew died so unfortunate may all the souls lost from that globmaster and from iwo jima rest in peace
If you missed the first part of the video, head over to this link to catch the detecting hunt. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aDcd9TZmY1Q.html
Its crazy that relic hunting doesn't really seem to be a thing there. Here in western Germany you have to work really hard to find some good stuff with a metal detector. Finding relics without a detector is almost impossible.
Found "A" shell casing on Iwo-Jima? I'll bet you can step on any piece of dirt on that Island that there is NOT a shell casing under foot. Must be millions of casings and bullets still there. The Island should be about 40% lead.
Another supplement about Banzai Cliff. Have you heard that there are man-eating sharks lurking on the blood-stained sea surface, and many of the victims became their prey?
When I was stationed at Kadena from 87-92, I picked up a metal detector my last year there, and me and a buddy would occasionally metal detect on the beaches, always hoping to find some lost jewelry, instead we would find quite a bit of Japanese modern coins. We liked finding 100Yen, but of course happier to find 500Yen coins, but they were almost always semi to badly tarnished from the salt water. We always found enough to go buy supper, usually deciding on ramen and a couple beers, but our first couple times doing this we discovered the restaurants were not happy with our tarnished coins, and told us not to use such coins next time. So, at the time, you could put coins in a vending machine, hit the change returns, and it would give you different coins. So this was our fix to get shiny acceptable coins after each outing. I found out years later, probably the early 2000's, I tried showing the trick to my sons on one of our return trips to Japan, and the machines would only return the same coin you put in. I wanted desperately to metal detect in the forests on Okinawa, but it was quite thick jungle, and dealing with Banana spider's everywhere, the possible Habu encounter, and the insane heat and humidity, was kind of a turn off going too deep in. Plus, most of the really interesting spots were usually fenced off.
Oh my gosh, I need to go to this museum. I NEED to help this guy get his bottles in order. I don't even care if I get to keep um, I just want to organize them!!!
Nice seeing you again it has been a while. Thanks for the tour it was very interesting. I’d love to see it in person. Congratulations that you will be going back to Japan soon, about time! 😁👍Hopefully some of your old treasure hunting buddies are still there too. See you again soon! Take care!
Have been looking forward to seeing you posting a new video adventure. Really cool! I’m a little jealous of all the places you are able to see. 😁👍Time to watch the next one.
Paul...long time. Sorry I haven't been posting too much but it is difficult here. I have been lucky though being able to travel to the places I have being Guam...Good thing is...I will be moving back to Japan in a few months!
