As far as mental health in the chapter setting, for me chapter meetings were always the most cathartic and therapeutic. Regular, efficiently-run and properly led chapter meetings are the glue the holds the brotherhood together and the best place to share your struggles and challenges so that other brothers know who needs support.
I am a founding member of Iota Phi NTSU (UNT). We worked night and day to exemplify the Standards, and fought many bureaucratic battles only won by perseverance, tenacity, and a strong code of ethics and merit. Nothing in the 84th Grand Chapter in (Toronto...my goodness, a fascist left emblem) gives me hope for the future of Sigma Chi. Good job, HQ.
I am compelled to add that my law enforcement counterparts, especially in Toronto Regional/RCMP, are an embarrassment to all of us oathbound to uphold the US Constitution, sworn-and-kept family. Ashamed of Ontario police behavior. I will step down from my soapbox now. Thank you for your tolerance and inclusiveness of my righteous indignation. In Hoc🫡
@@bend.morris4955 My reply seems to have disappeared, the algorithm caught mention of my point/s, those being the /truckr_convo/, compelled speech, criminalization of cultural /tg/ identification, Christian persecution, bangstick prohibition, et al. Maybe pig Latin will skirt the ensorshipcay.
Also in my "disappeared" reply was an analogy of Sigma Chi to the diversity of high-speed, low-drag military and police, that building great men attracts great men. But, I used inopportune nomenclature. In Hoc Signo Vinces
I just learned that my fraternity has a new DEI coordinator. I also found some Pride Month shit from HQ. Sigma Chi predates the civil war and has an unfortunate relationship to the era. That was fully paid for in the 19th and early 20th. I'm very, very angry. I'm going to take time to ponder denouncing my fraternity. It is a very big deal to me, and not to be taken lightly. I am just an old alum from UNT (which makes Berkeley look like amateurs in infantilism) and can only imagine the member backlash.... until I remember that this is 2023, not 1985.
I definitely follow your sentiments about DEI and Pride. Anyone who embraces these things individually may do so. It is their right. I always have and always will receive Brother Sigs whose temperaments, talents and convictions differ from mine. But I agree with you that the General Fraternity has **no** business promoting DEI or endorsing Pride. In hoc,
IHSV to all our Fraternity Brothers founded June 28th, 1855 who now live North, South, East, and West who wear the White Cross of Sigma Chi with Friendship, Justice, and Learning.
Greetings, brothers of Alpha Epsilon (Nebraska) on this Sigma Chi Founders day. So grateful for the friendships developed in those halcyon days in the 60's. . .enduring all these many years later. In hoc, Steve Davis AE'67
Someone from the fraternity better step up and do what's right. Some of you can bullshit and tell yourselves lies and think it's not on you to say something. But you can be known as the MAN who stepped up and did the right thing or be known as a coward like all your brothers who hid like bitches. Just imagine your loved one being stabbed to death, really think about it. Someone in this fraternity knows something and your president is a little bitch, so someone should step up and be a leader and say something.
Don't enroll at this school and especially this lame ass fraternity!!!!! Don't waste your money or your time and don't conform just to fit in . Fraternity members are lame AF
