Abacab went four times gold and twice platinum. So who says most people hate this album? Maybe the prog snobs who don't think it's music unless it's at least a side long of naval gazing and noodling. They are certainly NOT the majority nor are they the gatekeepers of taste. Both Genesis and Peter Gabriel did phenomenally well after they parted company, so even they would agree with this video. Great video. Agree completely...😉
Sabotage, Born Again (original and the unmixed/ demo) and Paranoid/ their ‘92 album with dio are the best. Only a few good songs off Debut and Sabbath Bloody Sabbath.
To be honest everything from #10 down to #1 is just a preference thing which is better than the other... What I mean by that is either album is occasionally the number one you want to listen to, completely dependent on your current mood on any day. Lord of This World is my favorite song on Master of Reality. Those lyrics! Those sludgy heavy doomy riffs! The progressiveness of it! The doomy riffs with Ozzy's high pitched vocals. I think Lord of This World is the epitome of the entire Black Sabbath sound.
Good call bringing in the Heaven & Hell "The Devil You Know" album into this list, because obviously it is basically Black Sabbath, despite them not being able to call them that due to contractual reasons at the time. Great list!! Great wise words about 13 man! I'm not as nice as you though, and will say I'd rather listen to Ozzy with Sabbath farting into the microphone as long as it's new songs with Ozzy MK Sabbath, than listen to TYR, Headless Cross or Possession with Tony Martin MK Sabbath!!! That's just me! The Eternal Idol I do appreciate though, but that is because that album has the vocal stylings of Ray Gillen and not Tony Martin!! ;-)

You really nailed it here, except that AWAKEN needs to be inserted either 1,2, or 3. I would put it at 3. Otherwise, I think you are right. The three consecutive albums: The YES Album, Fragile, and Close to the Edge are really flawless, the height of YES music, and you also picked the right three songs from The YES Album and Fragile. Lizard is underrated and Islands is an absolute masterpiece. If you are a fan of this period check out ‘Live at Plymouth Guildhall, May 11, 1971’. This is one of my top 5 favourite live albums. Just be aware that during ‘Get Thy Bearings’ for about a minute of a sax solo the sound quality changes for about a minute.

As a RUSH fan of over 40 years and 25 shows, I can say this album sucks!!!! Driven is good, but the rest of the songs are corny or just plain shitty. There are some good parts of songs, but I feel the arrangements are disjointed and the whole thing seems to have been a big puzzle whose pieces don't fit and in a few places, maybe parts of a different puzzle all together. The musicianship is great, as usual, but the songs aren't great. I was really excited for T4E's release and even recorded a release party from some radio station where the band went over each song and then the song was played and every one (save Driven) was a disappointment. Of course I still bought the record, thinking maybe it would miraculously get better actually holding the CD in hand. I even broke it out a couple of months ago to listen to Driven and give it ANOTHER shot. No such luck. I really liked the clever cover art as well, and the song selection on the tour was very good. But that is a RUSH CD I simply cannot stand.
