But how do I actually hook it up

Please help me! I can't get a 5.1 signal through the optical cable to the Denon 3808ci, I managed to get it using HDMI using my Dts Hd-MA Blu-ray Player, but I can't get basic 5.1 through the optical cable, I believe there is some setting disabled in the Denon menu that unfortunately I couldn't find.

I have this receiver it is made in japan all the great companies of the past may still have the same names but everything is made in china malaysia or some other place japan makes quality components this is an older amp but it is powerful does pretty much everything and quality of japan electronics this receiver does not disappoint

This amp can run 2ohm in stereo (using left and right side seperatly NOT bridged) it can only run 4ohm stable bridged . Ohms are established by what ohm sub(s) are used and how you connect wires.
