Fishing Michigan is my life. Mainly bass fishing but throwing in multi-species and different ways to get the big catch. On my days off dragging a camera with me to video what I do.
Thank you! I need to do a new video with all of the garmin updates since this video. I stick mine down the hole so that the ice holds it level. Start the calibration and spin it one directions slowly until the calibration is complete.
Mine broke in a similar fashion. RU-vid has several videos on this subject. I bought a replacement on Amazon. It said,”50 sold so far this month”. It was the 15th. Does anyone else think it is a design problem.? Frank
6in auger. With all the updates garmin made since this video. The settings are still close but need some adjustments. Also if you got the newer transducer you need a bigger auger. Like 8in auger
Moral of the story is your decoy only Hass to be as fancy as you want it to be. Whatever you think will work only one way to find out and that’s to drop it in the water.
The recordings go straight to my photos file in my phone. Most of the time the recordings are to large to share via text or messenger. You can probably cut the recording length down to a shareable size.
@@nealn5120 It is where two of the sonar beams connect with each other. How bad they show up depends on the water you are fishing in. The water I was fishing for this video is 5ft visibility but loaded with micro bugs the fish feed on and the sonar picks that up. I can get rid of the lines in the settings but then I will also give up some of the sensitivity of the sonar return to mark fish, creating more blind spots.
@@nealn5120 If you are getting a perfect picture, you either have perfect water conditions or are giving up some sonar return. Turning down the Gain to 65% would have helped with this but then my ability to mark the fish at a distance would have been less, also would have made it harder to see my small jig straight down. I could have set the tvg to medium for the 20 plus feet depth and it would have helped also.
I have watched a lot of videos trying to fine tune but yours maybe is the best I have seen. Glad someone asked about removing the bottom control buttons, that has been a quest of mine, Guess I will try the active captive app, is it difficult to get and use ? Also will look for the most recent update and see if my unit can benefit from that. Thank you
Glad I could help. The best way to learn is just spending time on the water tinkering with settings. You can always restore back to default. With a non-touch like mine the little circle don’t go away. With a touch screen you may just need to do the update.
Awesome video. Fun to catch but smallies go back in the hole. I used to use a drill mounted auger back when it wasn’t cool... 19.2v drill. Hard to justify a $3000 finder but my you sure make it look fun. Great work!
Same here, as you can see my super custom drill attachment lol. I use the graph more for bass fishing so it was easy to convert it over for ice and get year round use out of it.
With a touch screen model I have read before that you can not remove them. But somewhere I recently read that if you update the graph you can now remove them. I don't know if this is true or not. But I do know when you purchase a new graph they do not come with the most recent updates.
Thank you! If I get on a school that isn’t moving, or a day where I just want to sit down and fish I will switch it to down and change my settings for a more clear image. Otherwise I just leave it on forwards. Takes to much time to keep switching it back and forth.
@@mibasscraze8084 sounds good. I just picked up a LS unit and trying to determine which mode is better for camping out in a single spot for several hours and figuring out the orientation of multiple baits in a shelter.
@@mibasscraze8084 can turn the setting in orientation to auto instead of just keeping it at forward or down. It’s good about knowing when it’s in forward or down so u dont have to keep going into the setting to change it.
@@imagbaby5 yep, but the problem with auto when you are looking for fish is that it will auto change when you set the pole down in the sled. Then when you get to the next hole and drop the transducer under the ice. There is about a 10-20second lag time you have to wait for it to notice your in forward. I’m to impatient to wait for it to switch
This is the best live scope ice fishing video I have seen. I really appreciate you showing the whole process of drilling the hole, locating the fish, and then getting on the school. I just picked up a live scope set up, your video has me excited to get out on the ice. That is if we ever get safe ice here in SE Michigan.
@@mibasscraze8084 Not too long after my comment we ended up getting safe ice. I haven't had too much luck yet, but I have been able to locate and catch some fish. Thanks again!
@@watchthishappen1990 For ice fishing they sell a simple kit that comes with everything. "93sv uhd garmin panoptix livescope ice fishing bundle" right now its around $2,900 before shipping and tax... I went a different rout because I didnt want a touch screen and i wanted a 10in screen instead of a 9in.
I'm at the part where you just discovered the school of Fish (bass) lol wow said it before and I'll say it again...that is one sliiiick toy you guys get to play with nowadays!! Lol we just had couple rods, 100 holes and determination to find the school by dropping the line in one hole at a time lol 😆 😅 🤘WOOOOO
Its amazing the tools that we have now to find and catch fish. I was introduced to ice fishing super young and it was spud/hand auger, a weight to check depth and some short stiff rods with circle reels. I only caught a cold and lost interest. I got back into it when my brother showed me the all mighty "flasher" in 2012/2013. Since then on winter days you will no longer find me at home playing video games. I'm outside on the ice playing video games in real life.
I like your video. One suggestion that works for me is when you find them. Drill a grid around them in all directions to avoid drilling right over them. They get spooky at early ice
Garmin GPSmap 1042xsv… it is not a touch screen. There are two ways to record the screen. Before I was running a go pro mounted to the front of graph. That got old because it didn’t always get the best recording. But for making videos it’s easier to match later when editing.
In this video I was using the active Captin app to record. It records all the videos on my phone, then I had to go back and upload from my phone to pc for editing.
Nice tips n tricks! Do you know if the 93SV UHD has that capability to do screen recording on livescope mode as well? That is what im really curious about.
@@2jerchain you should be able to if you can get it to connect to the Active Captain App on a cell phone. I do not think there is a way to get them to record straight to an SD card on the unit itself. I wish there was because that would be much more convenient.
