As a born European, I really have to say that I have no idea what kind of water I can swim in there? Some bodies of water look so tempting that you just want to jump in straight away. 🤷🏼♂️
Most larger alligators stay out of springs like these because they're ambush predators. They prefer dark, murky water. When I go to Blue Springs, I see alligators just swimming in the darker water and never crossing into the clear water. However, you should always be careful and be aware of your surroundings.

No two different temperatures won't mix unless agitated. The clear water is probably from a spring releasing cold water. The brown water is just warm swamp water. Don't forget, decomposition creates heat.
