Beverly Sills still remains the Queen of the bel canto repertoire but this is very beautifully done and interpreted. Massis never attempts more than she is capable of and thereby gives a very plausible performance, well polished and with a very sound legato line which is the secret of a successful Bellini interpreter. For your own edification, if you do not know of Beverly Sills then listen and weep when you hear how she trills, her effortless top notes and beautiful bel canto. Brava Massis.
Thank you
What a divine Diva! I had the pleasure to admire Annick in the Nice(-Caen) production in the three soprano roles. Although she was suffering from a flu and a sore throat she sang most beautifully. After the performance she said to me: C´est une opéra très philosophique. How right she was!
Let's talk about Annick Massis singing. Gorgeous. She'll be long dead before she gets the recognition this incredible performer deserves. Give her praise now, not later.
