The joys of having neighbours. I can't go digging up their garden, then there is the hedges it seems to grow under, it really is taking over so quickly and impossible to get rid of. Not to mention the soil being so hard and clay-like in places, digging just isn't an option. Any other ideas at all??
Ive got a baby hog and it looks like its hibernating already ,other hedgehogs are still wondering around ,i dont know if i should get it out a weigh it to make sure its big enought to hibernate, or just leave it alone ,i leave food out near its door every night but ive only really seen a big hedgehog out and about on my camera ,should i leave the small hog or check on it ??
I have an old red rose bush my grandad planted in our garden in 1950. It’s still going, I’ve just snipped off the last flush of massive, fabulously scented huge red blousy blooms last week! It sometimes gets black spot, it doesn’t care, and this year, it hasn’t had any! It has those old fashioned leaves that start off red and mature to a green colour. No one can quite comprehend its longevity!!! I wish I knew its name….😮 I think I’ll just call it Rosà Immortality!!😂
It’s quite inspiring to see a more normal sized garden and how diverse it can be made. My garden isn’t massive but it wraps around the bungalow, so it’s like having different rooms as some areas are drier due to large hedges and some are sunnier but also shaded parts so it’s nice to wander round in summer and I’m always on the lookout to see what I can grow in these different areas so your garden is really interesting ,
Whenever there’s roses bought once the flower is spent I use them as cuttings, trim them down melt candle wax to seal top cut to keep in moisture then stick into soil in a pot water 💦 an cover with a plastic bottle an within a few weeks there rooting! 🫡👌👌👌👌 Not all will take but 50% or more will grow. Any that start rotting take out but not if bottom half still has new leaves just trim rot and seal with wax again!
