So the Polish team ordered their mixed-gender relay race team male-male-female-female, while the other teams all went male-female-female-male... Theoretically, assuming that all runners ran to their maximum ability, the team would finish w/ the same total time as they would regardless of what order they were going to run in. However, the Polish team putting their runners in different order than the other teams essentially guaranteed that the anchor runner would be in a somewhat humiliating position of being given a giant lead only to be tracked down by most of her male competitors...
Its impressive how good woman are at some sports when you count in all biological shortcoming in comparison to men. But at peak performance 10% less is half a round on the court. And thats ok, no one is laughing at woman who train and compete for records, we just have to accept reality and make it fair as good as possible. Not equal, just fair.
And that's why in Olympics 2024 you are not allowed to order your team by yourself. Only allowed for Male, Female, Male, Female. Just to hide the huge difference between men and women...
Why can't i find any other out-of-order mixed relay races like this where men race side-by-side against women? Did they standardize the order so you can no longer do this?
