The Best Teachers like the topic they teach! You can't teach something you don't enjoy. Selfies are a great idea in this age, make them proud of their own accomplishments...
I want to say: "Hello, and welcome to Target, can I help you" in the most tired surfer teen voice, and act lethargic. And lethargically respond to everything they do.
From my practical experience, is positive class. But is necessary a national cruise to improve the good English speaking between natives, cos the American in the last 35 years stared to talk a very bad English.
This analysis/approach misses many major drawbacks of using chatbots in education, not least is increasing dependence on commercial tools (the "AI" chatbots) that are opaque and increasingly corrupted by their own outputs. It's telling that the "use case" is in business/marketing education, where arguably reality and the truth are subservient to action and results. Sure, you'll probably get faster actions and results with chatbots, but don't expect them to advance the truth or even develop the intellects of your students.
I need to view the primary teacher training lectures, research papers and tutorials for the Bachelor of Education/B.A. in Primary Education degree. I have not been able to access any ELEMENTARY TEACHER'S COLLEGE VIDEOS. I need to see them please. Thank you for supporting my educational pursuits. I appreciate your interest.
What is the name of the app she is suggesting, at 59:51? The one she uses to teach children? Sounded like "our tick picks" to me. Can somebody please tell? Thanks in advance
The further your L1 is from English the easier it is to produce the English sounds as it is less likely that your L1 will have a similar sound so you have to start from scratch. I find Chinese English learners, once given correct instruction, can produce the English sounds more accurately than a speaker of Spanish. Italian, Portuguese etc. There is a lot of info in this presentation that I do not agree with
It’s so sad that you have to say “we are not saying don’t include white men.” As educators, we should be able to comprehend this. I am in the process of going through my curriculum. I know it’s ongoing and confronting, but it’s important.
Anyone referencing the work Hattie and relying on it as the basis for empirically sound judgement about effective pedagogy has totally lost my confidence. The meta-analytical processes used are extremely dubious and resulting synthesis deeply problematic. Read Wrigley, T. (2018). The power of ‘evidence’: Reliable science or a set of blunt tools?.
