7:50 Lidl is better then jumbo and even cheaper, so is Aldi ..and for your vegetables.. go to the local "Turk/Arab" supermarket. Better prices, and more spices..haha, how poetic lol
I want to go to Groningen but I don't know how to ride a bike because they're so uncommon where I am now. I'm learning how to ride a motorcycle though, do you think something like that would be looked down upon (maybe for not being as environmentally friendly)? What are some other alternatives for someone like me?
Hello, I want to come with the erasmus program and I just wanna know , will we have a chance to live in a student dormitory? Or will we have to look for a rent ?
Students coming from France or Germany aren't really the best examples of people who might be troubled by the prices in Netherlands, you know 😅 What about the students from Eastern Europe or, let alone, from developing countries then? The French and Germans are also super rich in the global context ✌
The Internet is a great place for young people to flex their mental muscle and technical skills. Best of luck to you. 🍀 I’m looking for the perfect place to live where cars don’t rule the world.
Finding a room - place to live is ridiculously difficult in Groningen. Please consider this well as an international student. The University is not always communicating this problem so clearly, since they have clear interest in you studying there (the university receives a lot of money for every international student). Happy for the maker of the video that she found a place but there are many stories of student who have to sleep in tents or even on the streets because of this housing / university communication problem.
Hi guys!! I will be making another video similar to this one because I have received a ton of questions on Instagram! so if you have any question please leave them down below and I will try my best to answer them in the upcoming video :))
Unfortunately, in my case there was no other way to make sure besides having a video call with the students that were living in the accommodation and who were going to become my roommates!
I have a question. How do you manage the fees as an international student? I’m aware of the scholarship program, and I can take a study loan. But is that sufficient? Whats the average living costs like I come from a non EU country.
Hi Tellme! Unfortunately as far as I know scholarships are not as big of a thing in Europe as they are for example in North America, although that said, I know there are a few scholarships for international students which are not necessarily from the university but my best advice would be to do lots of google researches and see what you find! Maybe even your country provides a scholarship but yes, google is your best friend when it comes to this or otherwise, call the university and ask them what type of scholarships they provide!
Hi NAIA I am from India and i am planning to come here could you please refer an unversity for Bsc Nursing courses please suggest me an good University
Hi Kiran, I am no longer in the Netherlands but there are a ton of online websites showing the different programs in the different countries, I personally really like a website called studyportal, hope this helps!
so helpful thank you! i just got accepted to University of Groningen & this helps a lot :) i’ll be an international student from the US hahaha i’m nervous but excited
Don't forget to mention that during your first months as an international, you'll either be homeless or paying 100 euros per night for a hotel/hostel, since finding student accommodation is nearly impossible. Consider yourself lucky if you've found your first accommodation by December, and be prepared to pay 700+ euros per month for a small room with shared facilities. The University doesn't care though, as long as you pay your tuition fees.
@@ninux4043 I recommend you to watch this video first: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Qvn013_OLGE.html And then reconsider if you still want to study at a university like this
hello Naia !! i am from Algeria and i am very intrested to finish my studies abroad especialy in netherland , i want to carry on my studies by doing a master in physics i want to have more information about how much it will cost me ?
I am looking for places to live with my friend, we were looking on possibly renting an apartment and splitting the bill between both, but it's quite hard to find a place which allows students to rent the apartment. Do you by any chance have any advice for my current situation?
Thank you very much! I am interested to find PhD research in the field of chemical engineering research of catalysis so i will add to connect me someone who is doing this field
How much would you say SSH (student housing) will cost? Maybe you are aware of it from your friends' experience? And thank you! Very informative video💜
If you're renting via ssh as an international student I think the lowest rent is right under 500 euros a month. It seems to vary between like 450 and 690 euros per month depending on the housing. This includes the furniture, electricity and water. Beware though, some of the ssh accommodations are very run down, it's not uncommon to have issues with mould, noisy neighbors, appliances and plumbing that don't work and never get fixed. And you can't cancel your contract once you've moved in, you might be able to be transferred to another ssh location though, but for this you will have to pay a moving fee
Hi, thank you for this video, super helpful! Do people usually move around using a bike there? or bus? Which one do you suggest for international students?
Hi Ivena! Thank you for the comment ❤ I would say that 90% of students move around on bikes... in my experience I've never took the bus, only used my bike :) hope this helps!
@@ivenanathaniavictor1700 it can rain a lot and often and there is a lot of wind. A lot of rain between those months indeed. More so a little bit later.
No, if you are in the EU you are not technically an international student (regarding tuition fees, visa application, etc) as all EU students pay basically the same, while non EU pay a higher price!
I met so many people that worked and studied at the same time and I think it is for sure possible, just make sure to be organize and you should be fine!
