hope you enjoyed this! I wanted to share this with you all because I genuinely feel this is absent from a lot of discussions on this subject, but to me it's super important because the whole point of reciting beautifully - or with maqamat - is to enhance our experience with the meaning of the Quran. Not just to go up and down randomly for the sake of the maqam. Any questions? thoughts? do you agree or disagree with me on the reciters shouting thing? 😅 lemme know ...
One thing I would say is that the different branches of maqamat did seem similar to mixing between maqamat. Along with that, you hinted slightly at the end about months and how the program is more flexible. If you don’t mind me asking, is there a general idea of how someone joining for 4 months will benefit from the program? What can they expect to learn as opposed to someone who may join for longer? جزاك الله خير
Correct, the branches of maqamat are essentially/often different names for particular combinations done in specific ways. Re: your 2nd question, we can't cover everything I showed here in 4 months - technically it's possible but for most people that would be too fast paced with not enough practice time. So there's always a bit of a dance between knowledge and practice. You can learn stuff quickly, but practice takes time. Kinda like going to a gym - you're not just learning how to do certain workouts, you actually need to do them over time to get the full results. I'll follow up with you personally as well with more specifics
Asalam u alaikum sir, can you please guide me ? When ever I try to read some verses of Quran or durood e ibhrahimi, I feel a lot of pain in my heart and stomach like someone is cutting it with a kn*fe 😢 can you please guide me what should I do ?
As-Salamu Alaykum Wa-Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh , i think my voice is to high its not very very high bit lil bit. It dont sounds good in my ear but i really want to learn recitation i love it. I cant go very good in deep parts for example at the adhan my voice dont sounds good cuz its better with deeper voice i think.
wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh. Even if someone can't go very high or very low, that's fine ... the main thing is to have some sort of pattern in the range that you're able to do already. A maqam or tune is just a pattern, so the sound is organized a certain way. You can do that within a small range or if you're able to, over a wider range of high and low. But going very high or very low is not required
i cant see this video, is the only one so far that showes directly like it has been seen until the end, but when i click it for repeat doesnt play. wierd. hope this isnt made from haters so the video cant be seen
I have no idea why this is the case, I thought maybe it was just you but someone else mentioned it here, and I also can't see it. Probably not a conspiracy lol maybe some sort of technical issue. I'll have to look into this and figure out how to contact youtube support.
"Assalamu Alaikum, I took your Hijaz course and I'm having trouble with the (3 4) exercise. When I try to play 3 and 4, I can reach 4 but not 3. When I attempt to play 3, it seems like I'm accidentally hitting 5 instead."
Asalam alaykum great videos, excellent work much appreciated. Do you have any advice on how to make the madood smoother... I'm reciting Warsh An Nafia and it's mainly madoods.
Nahawand Murasa is used in lots of Greek music and I’m trying to find info on it in English but it’s not super well documented 😢😢😢 Respect from a Greek to all Muslims, free Palestine
Asalamu ^laykum Bro, i learnt Hijaz (Ghareeb) and want now to learn Bayati Like Hashim Abbasi ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dIYkBnT4xv8.htmlsi=g1Gyls15775IyNM4 , but i dont know what Type of Bayati he use, is it Bayati asli? Do you no or can make a Video about it? :)
Aoa, I have taken your hijaz course and I have problem when I try to recite in hijaz i come to saba I don't know that why i can't touch hijaz tune. Can you help?
The reason is that saba has hijaz in it. Like the 4 notes of hijaz that we covered (1234) is also present in the structure of saba. So likely what's happening is that when you do the 4321 of hijaz, you end up continuing into saba. Probably it's happening on the way down, correct?
Mashallah nice video. I have a question: is the shaking in the voice when you hold a note for an extended period something that you can learn or is it from using your voice as a kid so the voicebox is trained?
@72-bit is correct, it can be developed. Look up vibrato on youtube I'm sure some stuff will come up. Essentially the way I think of it, it's like you're loosening the hold or the tightness on a single note, and then it will naturally vibrate or fluctuate slightly
Ustaadh!I tried to join ur online course which just started (the maqam nahaawand)and I was looking for the country discount and just couldn't find it.hence I missed the class I'm from South africa
I have a quick question: I used to have a good voice in quran reading then I started following the quran reciter and now my voice is not like that which I used to read quran in. My voice has changed or the map I had in my mind before I could not follow it now. Now what to do can you help?
good question thanks for asking. Without hearing you (like how you used to read before vs. now) it's difficult to give an exact answer. But my guess based on what you said is perhaps you "unnaturally" changed your voice to try to sound like someone else? if that's the case then ya that might happen. Like if you naturally speak at a certain level (range) and then you artificially switch to a different voice when reciting. Because you're trying to copy someone else who has a higher voice. Best thing is to try to stick to your natural voice, and then work on having a tune in your normal range. Hope this helps, again I'm just guessing based on the (limited) details in your question.
@@IdreesAllyMaqamat Thanks for answering. For detail, When my voice was good people used to say this but for myself I used to read quran normally. Then I started listening to a famous reciter ( Alafasy ), Iisten to him for a long time to do a good memorization when reading I try to read like him not everytime but I used to do this often. and I also used to have a high pitch or voice and now I have low voice or pitch but still if I try to read loud its the same voice like low. after some time I forgot how I used to read normally. Can you help with this? ( if this is still enough detail. Therefore, you can ask me the exact detail that you need answer this. )
@@RayyanAli780 thanks for the added details ... tbh it's still hard to give an exact answer since I haven't heard either reading (the before or after). My general answer before should still apply ... probably you just started reciting in a different voice than your normal natural voice. If you're young and going through puberty the voice will also change, that's normal and to be expected
@@IdreesAllyMaqamat Much Thanks for answering my question🙂. I understood my problem the map I had in my mind of recitation, I forgot because coping reciter I was trying to copy his recitation map which made me forget my recitation map. Is there any way can I get that recitation back, if not . Can you answer?
@@RayyanAli780 honestly I can't answer a question specific to you here on youtube. Because I haven't listened to you or tried any exercises with you. So for youtube or generally on social media, responses are for general benefit
ya maybe I should do it with a powerpoint but I'm allergic to making powerpoints looool. And this was asked live as well. If it's a chart it's essentially 2 columns: Tune and Tone ... tune is the melody or maqam, how we go up and down in pitch. Tone is the vocal quality or characteristics of that sound
1- you did not make waw madda 2 harakaaat in a’aooz 2 you did not make proper shaddah in billah and did not make alif 2 harakaat of bil laah e 3 in min a shaytaan you did not make ya lean like 4 again mistake on making shadah in min a shaytaan. 5 in ir rajeem. Mistake is shadddah. It should be ir rajeem. So you recite first and second ra of ir rajeem.
Please listen to any known qaari and you will understand the mistakes I pointed. Additionally reciting Quran with tajweed is fard. Reciting with maqaamaat is not. I am not against maqaamat however I avoid it since they are based on Arab musical scales.
@@alik4891 please let me know how I can submit my ijazaat to you for permanent destruction 😅 ... lol jokes aside, the points you mentioned are not correct. Funny how you went from "you missed shaddah" to like 6 different mistakes ... like I genuinely don't know what you're hearing. But okay.
Incredibly valuable ! I understand now: I have a deviated septum so I breathe with my mouth and my voice is so unstable even when I speak. Warm tea definitely helps relieve the tension. Also voice placement (which I already knew) helps. For me reciting in head voice is best. And i will definitely implement the advice "speak less recite more"😍
