Since you will lose your Materia, I'm guessing that this side-quest will be the intro portion of REMAKE PART 3! SCENARIO: Cloud realizes that Sephiroth is at the Northern crater but the way there is through Shinra territory. They thus decide to take a detour through Wutai but their plane crashes, separating the party, and Yuffie betrays them by stealing their Materia.

Actually, the last token isn't that hard. As long as you follow the path given by the rings challenge or your shortcut, on the second part of the track (13:50) it's enough to follow the red wire and you can make it in time (around 1:47). However, your respawn tech is way better, congrats!
