There is minimal bullet drop. I don’t know what the weird blue circle denotes 😅 but the cross hairs are actually leading the target and I always aim in advance
Well, "Aerodynamics of a house brick", it is a "MPV"? Having said that over the eight years (still going) we've owned our 2005 RG1 we've found it a very stable vehicle, more of an issue on country roads perhaps than the aerodynamics is it's road holding? We always fit good tyres to minimise that. People riding in the car for the first time often comment on how comfortable, how quiet it is and the auto-box really smooth.
Oh yeah, I say brick with full awareness 🤣 Yeah, I had the alignment done and some new tyres and it's much better. Yeah, never an issue with handling as in suspension, comfort or smoothness, more that the poor alignment was scrubbing the tyres and causing premature understeer.
One frustrating issue that I've had trying to upgrade the standard tungsten bulbs to LED's is that the RG1 being a non-cambus vehicle I found the LED's not only burnt out prematurely but the heat in the bulb mount hardened and cracked some of the mount? No idea what DC rating the vehicle is delivering to the bulbs but it's a lot more than 12 volts!
Yeah, I think a bit like house bulbs, if you swap to LED's you need to buy decent quality ones as all the "over supply" of electricity is turned in to heat. Strip a quality bulb down and you'll find a big head sink. LEDs are typically between 5 and 40% efficiency, meaning that 60-95% of the input power is lost as heat.
I have a video of how to change the front brake pads. I should have the video in a playlist of all my StepWgn videos. Discs are easy enough as well, once the caliper is moved.
This wire cup brush is allegedly bad for rust removal as it makes the metal glazed, hiding the rust underneath. I was told that 'coral' abrasive wheel is more suitable for this task.
I wouldn't say i had much in the way of symptoms. Visually i could see the rubber gaters had gone. The car felt a bit like it wanted to understeer prematurely, perhaps feeling less stable on tip in to a corner. Casting my mind back, I think swapping these and doing a wheel alignment, it felt much sharper at the front end.
Great video! I don’t have a manual for my RG1. My Japanese is not good either so I rely on your videos. Where did you get you air filter? And what’s the right one for our RG1?
I've got the 4 door, and mine is currently out of order. But it looks gorgeous! And I mean it looks brand new, like it has never been outside! Yet the strut towers have holes...
@8bvg300 I've seen some great over-clocking results with a semi fermented asparagus, the smells intense... but power and performance always comes at a cost.
Hi, this one was the front pads. I'd imagine the rear being the same process, maybe just a different caliper location. If you're changing rear disks, I understand that these are a "drum in disk" so that would be a bit more "fun" to try and sort out. If I need to do that job, I'll shoot another video
Beautiful and sweet, I have honda step wagon 2009. Just wanted to know have you changed the console to English or its also In Japanese. I can't connect to Bluetooth if there is one. Tried Google translation couldn't find Bluetooth. Also, what about air filter...is it hard to replace it.? Which one wouldn't you suggest. Cheers mate
Mine came with an aftermarket head unit. It's all in Japanese... So I've just had to learn my way around. You soon recognise the odd word for going back out of menus and accepting commands. Not related to head units but does yours have the highway toll system installed with the card reader in the little right hand coin tray? Does yours talk to you when you turn it on?
It uses to have it was under the steering wheel cabin I must say..., But it wasn't talking to me it was like not working, I Chuck it off as it was loose and hanging down onto my legs ...😂 I changed the head unit to a cheaper one cost me around 100 quid. Could you please share your information abt ATF replacement and it's location. Thanks mate
Great video, quick one? is yours a two-wheel drive or a four-wheel drive? and if four-wheel drive, how often do you change the diff oil and which oil do you use?
No idea I'm afraid. You can easily ring any Main honda dealer and give them your reg or vin number and they can check for you. To be honest, I wouldn't chance it. Just ring them and they can give you the price; it probably won't be more than 8 to 12 pounds and you will be guaranteed that it's the right part. There is no point fudging it for the sake of a couple of quid. I've had a few import vehicles and you can always get consumables from the main dealer with no problems
Hi mate. That was a very useful video. I've also got a 2008 stepwagon and needed to ask you 2 questions. The first one is which oil grade did you use for this oil change and I also noticed your speedometer was displayed in Miles per hour. Can you give me details as to where can I get this converted from in the UK? Thanks
Hi. The car came with the Speedo converted to mph. I thought they had to be converted when they were imported but maybe it's not a requirement if yours doesn't have it. You need 4.0l of oil and the manual says 10w-30 for regular temps (-20° to 40°). 0w-20, 5w-30 and 5w-40 can cover from -30° to +40°
Hi. Yes, sadly all the manuals are in Japanese but core images or key data is often numeric, so you can understand it. Otherwise with a bit of interpretation, using the Google translate app to do live translation from your camera can get you about 90% of the way. You just need to figure out the grammar.
So far I haven't had too much trouble. There is a big warehouse in Holland I think it was that services most of Europe. I believe it's where certain Honda parts specialists will turn to to get hold of the more obscure parts. Where in the world are you?
