For a recommendation, I'd suggest either Forgotten Love of Soft Universe from the KEXP Iceland mini concert. Those are two of my personal favorites, and the KEXP show was my first introduction to Aurora. I'd recommend the entire concert. The set list is amazing. Churchyard from the same show is also magical. And of course, anything from the Nidarosdomen performance.
KEXP was my intro to Aurora too. At least I think, because I was listening to a lot of my favourite musicians on KEXP at that time. It is great format. Now I listen almost only to Aurora :( :D

This is probably the saddest love song I've ever heard. A man shoots his wife to end her suffering. Can love be bigger and more painful at the same time than in this story? AURORA manages to make this pain palpable with her voice and her movements. You have seen AURORA's eyes. She wasn't on stage. She was somewhere else. You saw how deeply she was thinking about these two people, that she sometimes shook herself uncontrollably. I believe that she is not conscious of her movements. She's so into the story in her head that she's doing the moves in the story. I heard that AURORA was horrified by these movements when she saw the recording of the performance. That means for me that she did it unconsciously. Her empathy must be beyond measure. She spreads all her feelings that she has in this moment in front of us and lets us look into her heart and soul. There is no other way I can explain that almost everyone who saw this performance was affected by this story. AURORA is more than a storyteller, more than a singer. AURORA is a true artist. This is from an interview with Aurora: "First of all, I have a really vivid imagination. You know that these things may be happening to someone right now. It's kind of a terrifying thought. I just had to get that thought out of my head - and that's why I wrote this song. But the two characters are actually just made up in my head. I've written many songs about them - maybe I'll make a book with them." And in another interview: It’s just fascinating that some people can have in them the desire to kill while some people cannot pick a flower without feeling bad. That's about this I wrote 'Murder Song'. How can a man kill someone he loves and it happens often in the world. But he doesn't really understand what he did, it's a very complicated story. Yes, very nice reaction. Aurora is self taught in all aspects of her artistry other than dancing, she took dance lessons from 6 to 16 years old, she is a very gifted artist. Her vocals, song writing and her emotions she pours into her songs makes for epic storytelling. She is the BEST multi talented artist past and present, IMO. Thanks.
