There are so many problems with the Gorn in SNW. The first one is that no one should even know about them at this point in time. The second and most important point is that they were not the villains in the TOS Arena episode. It was revealed that if was in fact the Federation that was the villain since they encroached in their territory. They were just defending themselves. The first season was bad but halfway through the second season I stopped watching it. This new iteration of Star Trek that started with JJ Trek does not understand Star Trek. The Vulcans are a joke. STD was a incredibly bad and I had high hopes with for SNW but I am not sure anymore which is the worst. Star Trek died in 2005 when Enterprise was cancelled.
I disagree but everyone is entitled to their opinion. TOS at this point is barely canon. Which started way before Newer Star Trek. The show just hasn't aged super well. I do agree that the Gorn aren't just monsters and should be treated as a unique culture. Discovery is the most Trek of the New Treks. It started a bit rough but by the end embodied the values and virtues of IDIC and exploration.
NEXT GEN was gay baiting and representation was NOT good if there at all. And TREK always promised in Starlog and elsewhere kept promising a major gay male main character but never delivered in the 1990s. It was disappointing and I felt TREK always made fun of other cultures while quietly or not quietly saying the white men or others from Earth did everything better so different was not always brought into the best light. The 1990s TREK let me down.
I would say that the first few seasons of TNG were definitely trying to push representation and even DS9. From all reports the issue was Rick Berman didn't want it and by the time they got to Enterprise in the early 2000s they were afraid to because it could of meant viewers turning off. Star Trek certainly isn't perfect, but it very much influenced me and my journey in to accepting myself. TNG was before Ellen, Will & Grace, Queer as folk. It was a time of transition. But by the middle of Voyager it certainly should of been different and Enterprise queer baited with Malcolm bad.
People don't get that the makers of Trek, when planning for its return, made decisions like - how can we do adult content (more violent) like Game of Thrones? So Section 32 was one way. And Girn like Xenomorph waa another.
Oh no, not the gorn. Slow and tanky as an adult captain. Fast and deadly like a raptor as a kid and basically a xenomorph as a teenager. Gotta love the writers of the gorn 😂
I get why they changed them. You have an iconic bad guy, in a great episode but the speed and scariness doesn't hold up after 50+ years. I still love them though.
Beautiful women are there to be looked at and admired....!!!Period ....!!!!....We men will ALWAYS admire and look at beautiful women ...!!!.......If women does not not want to be stared at ..???....dress differently ok...?......Dress like Muslim women ...covered from head to toe with only ....their eyes visible ....!!!!....But even then one can still see the contours ...even with that long dresses .....So ladies ......we men love you and we will always admire and appreciate a a REAL beautiful woman .....Feminists and womens lib ....take a hike ...!!!..
Lol, dude, women amazingly, don't dress for you. They dress for themselves. You can find women beautiful, but when you put an actor in a skin tight cat suits for viewers it's a low bar
Realistically Ron Moore and Naren Shanker could sue Paramount for the copyright infringement because literally no one is confused about Paris being Locarno, same actor with the same backstory but a different name doesn't do anything to disguise that it's stolen IP. Lucky for Paramount Ron and Naren have other things on.
@@TrekTrav exactly. I remember reading the character bio before the show aired and it was a very wtf that's Locarno. The main difference being that Locarno was hot but Robbie didn't age that well so Paris was more dad nerdcore.
@@LucDevine haha, He is good until about season 3 and then gains the Dad look. I think as a charactor he was far more interesting in Season 1 than later
@@TrekTrav there are a lot of Star trek fans out here I'll try and help you out buy trying to spread the word about your channel just keep posting content I'm sure you will get more subs If you keep posting quality content and good luck need more like your channel 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Could just be emulation, his whole face moves like a human and looks like a human, subconscious responses without the emotion are probably all that that is
This is in my ENT top 10. Because it shows perfectly how vulnerable they are in deep space and they have to rely on their wits and fast thinking for tricky situations. And i love the pineapple side story 😉
Haha, I wish they did more with their vulnerability. Make it seem harder to survive. I love Enterprise although sometimes it was like Voyager in that the premise could have been amazing if it panned out right.
