past the drunken monkey parking. Use the heatmap feature on trail forks to see it. My buddy took us the long way, so I don't really remember how to get there.
Super late to the party but what’s the last trail you were riding with all of the flow? (Also I want to thank you for including the drop with the cinderblocks on roller coaster, I’ve been working towards getting the confidence to ride that for 6 months)
It's Lunar Flow, its a jump line off Moonscape. It has changed quite a bit since this video. That drop is way easier than your head is making it out to be. I was the same way, then I just went for it and was like, "huh, that wasn't so bad". Send it!!
Hot damn.. This is not terribly far away. I've been out of the trail game for a bit too long. Prolly time to head down there before my bones turn to dust.
I’m new this area I have a question that you never show in the videos. Do you have to ride through the green trails to get to the blue trails or black?
I ride a Trek Fuel EX. So I looked your bike up, good looking bike! The back half looks just like my Trek, but where it connects to the steerer tube it looks like my wife's Giant Trance. They took the best looking parts of two bikes and made a sweet one!
@@inbermswetrust Im sayin, i have a fuel ex and a rakan. The rakan is much less forgiving but they are both very capable bikes. Fuji claims its a hybrid bike.. a trail mixed with an enduro
Listening to you gulp for air by the truckload brings back just enough memory to remind me that I don't need to head back there any time soon. This trail whooped my ass!! Love those gloves!
Man I haven’t been out there in probably 2 years. I’m actually planning to ride it tomorrow. Can’t believe how overgrown the jump line is. Trails look like they are in decent shape though after the storm…
You have to be in really good shape to get the most of Alafia.. FL trails are tough! I mean, unless you get an E bike. Anyway good stuff! Ill sub from my other account.
Nice ride! I was a Croom the other week and the Banana Spiders were out in full force 😅, after the 3rd web with a big spider on it I decided to head out! Only been to Balm once, clearly need to check it out again... the ride in and out kills me though.
Thanks! This was the week after it closed. So im trying to get more familiar with the park. I've kinda been an Alafia Park rat. I'll give it go when it opens back up.
Just found your video. Thanks for posting it. Alifia is a favorite place. I’ve ridden Lost Meadows once and it maxed out my skills. I’m one of the old roadies now on an eMTB and loving being in the woods. I ride mostly the green trails so your video showed me trails I know are there but I won’t ride personally. Just turned 76 today, planning on riding there in the morning
You're right! (I edit many breaks out). Unfortunately, it still doesn't translate to actual mountain riding. I get gassed after 2 mins of slow grade climbing, and 2 mins of steep downhill. Here's me realizing that ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YLUpz1ZdwAg.html
@@inbermswetrust You were in foraging country up there! Perfect place for top dollar gourmet fungus. I'd probably be walking up half of those hills especially after low altitude air and minimal elevation changes down here. My issue is I really enjoy velocity, but I have trouble keeping it up in Florida.
I was riding with a different group this day. I typically don't bookend my rides with jump lines. This day is probably still my favorite ride of the past year.
@tiagoweyne6661 Loyce Harpe (Carter Rd) is really good for tight technical trails. Great riding there and very different than Alafia. It's a bit more "natural" and a good mix for all skill levels.
Balm: Follow the "FTR" (Fast Track to Ridgeline) signs... takes you along the power line all the way back down the 2-track road. Short little section of single track right before the entrance. Great ride!
Thanks, This ride really crept up and beat me down (lots of cussing). Past 3 rides have been at balm to get a better mental map of the park. I really hate carrying my phone.
@inbermswetrust we'll be riding Balm early Saturday and know that place very well, if you want to ride along. The heat/humidity combo has been brutal lately, it'll really zap you fast!
Cool video, except the info on banana spiders. No Florida banana spider's poison will kill children, the spider you described is a Brazilian banana spider, which is one of the most poisonous. I've handled countless banana spiders in Florida, none of which bit me. They are scary looking but super docile.
It's a chin mount, with the J hook clip to get the camera a little lower. I couldn't wear a chest mount in this heat, plus it makes hypersmooth work so much harder.
I wouldn't say for a beginner. But you have riding experience, so you should be fine. You might have to wait a few months now though, its closed from all the rain. But the other trails there are great too.
@inbermswetrust I decided to stick to the green trails and leave the more advanced routes for later once I get a bit more experience. Just came off the trail a few hours ago, and I really like how they're all interconnected with plenty of signage so you're aware of your location. This will definitely be one of my more frequented trails. Thanks
I live in the tampa area and have going to a lot of the parks around. Iv been really enjoying your videos, the quality is really great. Hope you keep making them
Nice channel man, I subbed. I’ll def be on the look out for you on the trails, I ride a Yellow Yamaha usually, let’s get a jump train on meadows one of these days 🤘🏼
