Ive use my Pit Boss a couple of times, Im glad I came back for these tips. I think Ive done several of the wrong things. I wont anymore. I do have a question??? When smoking a meat how much is the damper opened or closed?
I think pitboss is the best at actually thinking more about the consumer and how to make their products better for the people actually using them. I have the brunswick vertical smoker.
Damn wish I saw this before I bought my traeger. Been having serious issues with its burn pot. I empty the pot and pellets after every cook and still need to disassemble halfway through my cooks because it suddenly drops in temp and stops working
A word of the wise that switch is a breaker breakers aren't meant to be switches You need to get an external switch or just plug it in and unplug it when you want to use it Don't use that breaker for a switch It's the weak link in this machine I've had to replace it.
Nice review. Would appreciate followup on how to plumb the machine so I don't have to fill from water bottle. Does it have to have a drain for spent water to go into?
I never mess around with the membrane. Just score it a bunch and let it cook. When the ribs are done you don't even notice it's there. Cant remember where I learned that trick.
The biscuit test was good but it contradicted what he said about the even heating in pellet smokers because of the burn pot fan. Also, the smoker pit in the video was a stick burner. It's a well known fact that stick burner smokers produce the most heat near the firebox.
