If you love AoE4 and you want to see gameplay at all levels then you are in the right place. I share my own experience on the ladder as well as casted games from all players from the community. From Bronze 1 Beginners to Conqueror 3 Champions, we are going to see it all together. Come join the gang and let's hit the ladder together!
@@Decimus92 Glad you are enjoying the videos. I feel like I learned a lot from the first game and was able to directly test out a different idea and approach. That's all I need to do with every loss to get the next win 😉
Welcome to the club, you are going to love it. This is my first RTS too and it feels like there is too much to learn, but at the beginning keep it simple. Find one civ you like, find a build order you like and practise it a little so you have an idea how to start, then just focus on making constant villagers, spending your resources and using your units. Send me your in game details and I can cast one of your games too 👍🏻
I know, I missed a trick. The second after I said it I thought of that and "just meh-ssage me the videos". I need to up my pun game the same as my micro XD
@@KFear All you need to do is tell me your in game name and let me know if there is a specific game in mind and I will add it to the list. Your history needs to be open and within the last 10 matches as only 10 are stored. Don't worry about being gold, there are always interesting things to talk about at every level :)
@@Amerath90 it's KFEAR, a game where I win. You can be harsh as you like on the commentary lmao, I also have some good 2v2 games with my mate, we have some good teamwork. Cheers :D
@@KFear I will find something for you don't worry. And I don't like being harsh, it's all about learning and improving. We were all gold at one stage, even Beasty 😉
Love the content! If you ever want to cast ootd theyre my main. Im climbing plat 2 rn. My ign is dPlayer_5b. I had a fun game against french on dry arabia
Great game! One critique if you don’t mind to hear it? You leave your troops unattended when you retreat. Multiple battles I seen you click to run away and never went back to check how the retreat was going. You’d save a lot of troops if you watched the retreat and microd a few troops into the pursuers. Even kiting away would save a lot of troops. Greta game though man!
Thanks. This is definitely something that I do a lot and I am trying to get better at it. Micro is one of the many things I need to improve, but running away and taking tons of unnecessary damage is something I do too often. Thanks for the tip :)
I’ve only been playing for about 1 1/2 years but your overall management and gameplay is much better than mine. I micro the army and lose the economy behind it and then I lose lol
@@Decimus92 Yeah I've played for about the same time and this season is the first I have played more than 20 games. I usually take the approach that if my eco is stronger I can drown them in unit until they surrender 😂
@@Amerath90 dude you’re right there to having it all!! Better than me for sure. I don’t have economy understood enough. I kinda throw my villagers all around.
@@Decimus92 I'm still figuring it out slowly but some good advice I got was if you have resources spend them and if you have too much of one and not enough of another just move them. It's also not a bad idea to rally to wood if you aren't sure because you can convert wood into production or farms which makes food. And with production if you are producing units (not planning to age up) and you have 3-4 of a unit type in queue all the time then you need at least one more building. Depending on what civ you choose ofc
Just subbed - keep up the good work! Two humble recommendations from my end: 1) Having a script (even a loose one) can cut down the length of the video so it's more concise and to the point. You'll get better retention results. 2) Perhaps change your profile photo to something AoE related so your audience knows you make content for AoE. :)
@@AgeofNoob Thanks so much for subbing and your comments. I love your stuff! This was a first try at patch notes review and I completely agree about the script, it was the first note I made to improve it for next time. Also, a great idea about the profile picture.
Of course, I will add it to my list and if the replay is available when I have time I will definitely cast it for you 👍🏻 Good luck with hitting plat. You can do it!
@@moonboy2k185 I imagine he was saving Arkitoi for the right moment because if you pop it too early it can be bad. Def not had that situation myself against Mongols...
@@moonboy2k185 outposts def would have helped on those external food sources. Or taking the fight to his opponent so his units couldn't run around so freely
Yeah it's a really common mistake and for a lot of new players I think the way their damage works in a little confusing. All you have to know is you need +1 ranged defence asap 👍🏻
I hope it's not a big nerf because Rus are strong but not unbeatable. I would like it if I wasn't forced to go round denying hunt at the beginning though, it's not my favourite way to start a game. Do you play Rus?
@@ActionRan Of course you like the mini game then 😂 but I do like this is makes you do something differently so ever game isn't identical for the first 4-5 mins
@@tristanmcmurtry1512 I agree it was a good change, but I think English will still be super strong. It will be interesting to see how much of a difference the king delay makes
Another example of where my maths skills are letting me down. Thanks for the clarification, that actually makes more sense. So, now I need to be scared of Ottomans again... 🥲
I honestly would've preferred you massed arbelists instead of sipahis and spammed limmatenei or v guard instead of xbows and maybe some horseman to raid but it ended up working just fine for you. The idea to add a camel for debuff to his knights from the other market also great.. i love the minmaxing with your city planning i just think it takes you too much time.. rushing so many berries is good for oil but also leaves you very exposed to raids and the gather rate is really slow. I believe Byzantine should use mercs as extra and not rely on them for the core of your army. Vguards and limas are really good carries for unique units of the field. Try to to think how to mass faster for more tempo but overall good gameplay, relics sacred sites walls raids you did it all
Thanks for the tips. I agree about the arbs, I always forget about them even though they are great. I don't always go horseman because my micro isn't very good and I often lose them really easily. Even though Byz has the ability to mass up quickly, I always feel slow so definitely something I am going to try and improve. Only way to hit Conq next season ;)
GG but the audio is not good. I've never seen anyone play at this level with a mouse only and not use hotkeys. Interesting. You'd go up a couple of levels overnight if you master the hotkeys. Looking forward to seeing your progress. The analysis that pops up at 39:37 - where does that come from?
I completely agree about the hotkeys and control groups, I am trying to use control groups for my army at the moment, but sometimes I can't do it quickly enough and have to click everything manually. The graphs that I put at the end are all from Aoe4world which you can see if your profile is visible in game. This is a link to my profile so you can see what I mean -> aoe4world.com/players/13819758-Amerath Thanks for letting me know about the audio, I have checked and it seems ok for me. What is the problem you are hearing?
Loving the calm playstyle lol, it's very hard to comment while you play specially in later stages of the game where there are more things going on. GG!
I'm glad you like it. Trying my best to not get so sweaty about it and take it easy. I just tell myself that when I accidentally pull villagers with my army it's not a mistake, it's an opportunity for a forward tower 😂
The end of your videos is amazing. That last 10min of analysis (doesn’t matter if you’re conq 3 or not) is so valuable. It’s like a chess engine post game. People should really learn a lot from it on their climb up the ladder
@@TheHermesPrime I know I'm learning a lot from doing all the analysis to apply to my games, so hopefully other people find it helpful too 👍🏻 After all we are all conq 3 in training 😉
