I dont know how to explain it, but i feel like i was brutally mauled. I saw Karan let herself be into oblivion with the BAD GUY. Over the course of this entire game, it all seemed to be around Imojen and no one else, not the crew, the people. Hell, it's fitting , they're literally the only ones left after they jumped out of the H.Network. which had gotten shut off(apparently). You can't just put an ENTIRE MEGATROPOLI worth of ship, have it's topics surround a single person. This should've been more about survival, a chance to tell a HOMEWORLD story, even with the whole reworks. The story could have had been greater. With Karan S'jet gone, all we're left with is a protagonist that the directors will choose to make more self-centered stories out of. COMPLETELY ignoring the fact homeworld never was about singular individuals. also the queen and karan look hella gay at the end holding hands -100 aura.

I was at the end with 1 data tower left and got swarmed. I forgot to resource farm on the last mission because I thought I would get the chance at the end.

I think having quite a few support frigates means I take far fewer frigate/capital class losses and saves me quite a bit of money over the entire campaign.
The more I see gameplay, the more I'm convinced these reviews gotta be kidding evaluating at 7/10. This is a true Homeworld game! The visuals are fantastic, the music is good, the suspense in what's happening at every mission... this game has it all and improves every aspect of HW games. I'm amazed this isn't being called a masterpiece. I get the reviews saying the game is too linear and every mission kinda puts you in a one-solution-possible strategy, but c'mon this is a minor detail at best at the level of story they're giving us.
It lacks some features of the predecessors like Homeworld 2's modules. The campaign, while the missions are generaly fun it's short and the storry is absolutely atropcious. i'ts like a bad YA novel, ESPECIALLY the ending. Skirmish mode is dead on arival becasue all the maps are ridiculously tiny. Can't really make use of the sapce terrain if im right on top of my oponnet fro mthe getgo. Finally for some bizzare reason the devs or some execs decided the Wargames mode is suppose to be the Main element and that while fun the first few times gets repetative quickly due to the very small pool of maps. Unit helth pools are so low there is little point in making use of advanced tactics like flanking sicne you can kill a battlecruiser frontally i nthe time it owuld take you to flank it. And that's not even touching the buggy unit behavior. Some units "forget" orders, Torpedo frigates will roam aroudn the map becasue thay always try to be at max range and you cant tell them to hold position, capital ships will ALWAYS mve to the same "elevation" their target is at before attacking and finnaly there is somethign seriously wrong with the Battlecruiser's behaviour because they seem too fire extremely infrequently and only at close range. It is by no means a "masterpiece" outside of the visuals.
Yeah, it doesn't help that Bombers and Railgun Corvettes are too damn squishy and replacing them will burn through your resources. Also, due to how the active abilities work on your Frigates, you have to use a LOT of tactical pauses to stand a chance. Finally, once you reach the third wave, Minelayer Frigates don't work nearly as well because the enemy Frigates and Destroyers can tank them. You still want to use them to shred the enemy's fighters and corvettes, but I don't think I'd bother trying to stop the enemy capital ships with mines by that point. Once you reach the third wave, my suggestion is to abandon trying to hold the frontline position and fall back to the Mothership. If you try and hold right at the gate, the enemy will just run past you and kill the Mothership while your fleet tries to catch up. You can reposition your turrets when doing this, but you'll want to pause to give them orders. The first time I did this mission, I actually didn't deploy my turrets properly. I thought they deployed the same way they do in HW2, but you have to do more than just a movement command. Anyhow, you want to leave a few of your anti-fighter turrets near the Mothership because you're surely going to have a few fighters and corvettes running past you through those gaps near the gate. Once you lose most of the turrets near the front, replace them with more anti-capital turrets and place those near the Mothership. One last thing that I'm not sure of is whether or not any of the salvage you can get from destroyed capital ships gets auto-harvested at the end of the mission. If not, the devs should add an option for that, especially since the end-of-mission works like it does in HW2 rather than HW1 or Cataclysm.
Of the people recording the first campaign playthrough, you seem the most competent. I'm seeing other people just going through via brute force, you actually use tactics.
