Hi Friends!

We are Liz and Alex and we make outdoor adventure and travel videos. We strongly believe that dreams are meant to be pursued, and we hope to motivate others to get outside their comfort zones and do the same. We feel the most alive and have the most personal growth when we push ourselves outside of our comfort zone and know others will as well.

In 2019 we quit our jobs to travel the world for a planned 1.5 years and started documenting it here on RU-vid, which while the trip didn't go as long as planned due to the state of the world in 2020, we were able to develop a love for video creation. Before going back to full-time work again we took on one last big adventure of bikepacking 1,000 miles of the Great Divide Mountain bike route as complete beginners. That trip instilled a love for "journey or expedition" type travel and now we plan to continue to document those adventures here on our channel.

Please SUBSCRIBE to our channel to follow our journey :)

Great video - thanks for the tips! Just wanted to add that Warrmshoers is a RECIPROCAL hosting community, and I thoroughly recommend all touring cyclists become active members, both as guests AND hosts.

Does anyone know where to get real sheep chamois bike shorts, like we used to wear back in the day. I have had it with the thick spongy inner. they are hot and uncomfortable on day after day rides. I now ride with a lightweight thing padded under short or ride commando. Your saddle can slowly slide down especially on bumpy roads or tails. This can happen in one day or over weeks and before you realize the problem your knees ache and your butt is sore. Make a gage of some type for a quick Measurment, i.e. fingers. or a small rule. I carry one to true a rim. If you have brought more stuff than you need, send it home or drop it off at a church thrift shop or to someone you meet on the road.

You will take to much stuff so send it home if you have not used it.

You would have needed touring bikes with better rolling tyres. Nice videos thou. Been there :) German bakeries are the best!

I’ve never understood why people think to make comments like this without any thought to what type of terrain/touring people are doing. I’m currently 3000km into a Europe/UK tour on 2.8” MTB tyres. Some days I wish I had thinner rolling tyres, others I’m off-road and exploring MTB trails or screaming down dodgy potholed roads, thoroughly glad I’m on safe/comfortable tyres. I may be a bit slower than the thin tyre tourers, but hey, If I was in a rush I wouldn’t be on a bike!

Thank you for another excellent video! One of the most important concepts in any bicycling is the 'fit'. Apparently in the UK and Australia it's common to have fitters who will bring you into a studio and watch you pedal a stationary bike. In something as dynamic as repetitiously pedaling a piece of equipment every little variable makes a difference, from the saddles, pedals and handlebars to centimeters of distance to set them. Then there are the rest of us folks who spent decades and thousands of miles figuring it all out on our own. Fortunately in this interconnected modern world there are RU-vid videos which explain the fitting processes pretty well. Of course many people have completely different ideas on the topic, so some discretion is involved. Bonne chance!

I did the EBC in mid Sept and absolutely loved it. Didn't feel like I missed anything but I'm here to learn about Annapurna. Appreciate the video but for people who don't travel as much as you guys and can only get to Nepal once EBC is highly recommended. Thanks again for the information.

My sons and I visited the Olympic peninsula years ago and I remembered how beautiful lake crescent was. I was thinking about it during the video and noticed a lake in your video and thought is that lake crecent? Sure enough it was. The water is crystal clear. Loved that vacation. We went to Sol Duc springs. Went all the way to the ocean. It was a car trip as my son's were small. Cool video. I love the PNW. Never mtb'd there. Have family in Seattle area. One day maybe.

heya guys, just happened across your bike trip and love it so far. Decided to watch the whole thing from the start! 😊 I was wondering what kind of camera you use in the towns to get such nice footage with the blurred background when close in on objects?
@PursuingMountains
@PursuingMountains 16 дней назад
Hi, thanks for watching! The nice camera we have is the Cannon EOS R5, and most of the time I use the RF 15-35 f/2.8 lens but sometimes I would use the the 24-100 f/4. It’s a lot of extra weight to bring such a big camera with lenses, but it’s worth it.
@Merlin-fl7vy
@Merlin-fl7vy 13 дней назад
@PursuingMountains ah thanks for such a detailed reply 🙂 I was thinking the depth of field looked like a proper camera lens but then I thought no way you would carry one with the massive weight. It is definitely worth it, when you are doing close ups in the little villages it looks great. Take care

a late tip, but useful if you ever visit Slovenia and Croatia again: There are a lot of bike shops that sell and fix beat up old city bikes. I'd say it's most of them. Usually they have v-brakes, bb30s and cup and cone bearings. And a lot of older stuff. if you need modern (current) stuff, you need to find a place that sells expensive road bikes and MTBs (especially if you're looking for maxxis tyres)

As a know-it-all local, I would suggest that if you can only do one cave in Slovenia, then Škocjan cave system (that you just scratched around) is the best. The are not as many features (like stalactites/mites, and artificial lighting!) as Postojna caves, but the sheer size and complexity is mind-blowing, as is the engineering required to install the walkways! I´m enjoying your series .. thanks for visiting Slovenia!!
