I want to bring back the people who have been before us who shaped our towns that we enjoy to this day. I want to bring to life those that society has forgot and ensure they are remembered and not forgotten. This channel is small and will always remain true to the main objective of sharing the stories of the people who came before us.
subscribers are very much appreciated as is comment and suggestion. thank you for watching Sarah
Pity such a lovely building is left to the elements. Vandals, then pigeons get in and it’s not long before the roof leaks and the structure is beyond repair. The religion for this church, council and national government should make funds available to renovate / protect it from further damage. Get some local young people involved in doing it up. Teach them skills and pride in their local area. Stop the destruction. Sorry for the rant
Walked round Gorton Today. Richard Peacock was also the MD of Beyer Peacock locomotive Manufacturers [Founded in 1854] Which was about 100 yards up the road from the Monastery on the left, walking away from Manchester. Some of the original buildings are still there. It was a Massive concern, and exported locos all over the world. If you look over the road from the Monastery, is Peacock park, 👍👍👍
why do you know so much about Oldham, not only history but you seem to know all the different buroughs. I know you lived there once but not many people know the detail of their wider area like that. Qudos
Just found this Sarah, I come from Monk Bretton & now live in Failsworth I've walked from Failsworth to Manchester city centre a few times down the canal paths.
Loads of great places to visit in Egypt. I’ve been to Karnak, Cairo. Along the Nile. Cairo museum was amazing. It wasn’t very well cared for back then 1990 ish, but the objects and historical artefacts everywhere were incredible.
Hi Sarah my friend is originally from Oldham and loves your videos I've shown her. She's asked me to ask you if you can do a video about the Oldham royal infirmary which is where Barlow's funeral directors and the college is now there if you got any info about it. This is where she worked when she was younger her name is Christine stirrup. Thanks If possible

You missed arguably the most interesting gravestone in the graveyard! Close to the fence is the “Dropsy gravestone” it describes how the person was “tapped” due to water retention, the old treatment for the condition. It is an important historical record of an old medical treatment, one of about 6 graves in the country describing medical history. I offered to cover the cost of preserving the stone so lettering is not lost, but achieved nothing. Ive been looking at it all my life, drawn to my attention by my Mother, married at the church in 1945.
@@SarahsUKGraveyard you probably stood on it when looking over the fence, it is in that vicinity. The clerk did her best but doing anything in a church requires a faculty - if you stick to the rules and church council approval. Months went by, with no progress and I gave up. It needs protection irrespective of manmade bureaucracy, bowing to the system will cost an important historical record left to the elements
"HAPPY --SARAH-!!!--I'm having "BALM-CAKE"--"PARKIN"--& A "PICKLED EGG"-IN YOUR "HONOUR"--washed down with a "bottle-of-TIZER"--I found on tip !!-HAVE -A-GOOD-ONE !!!-"--BIRTHDAY"--!!!
Only just watched this video because we have been up in Scotland. Not standing for people messing you around is perfectly understandable. We all put up with this when we were young but with age comes wisdom. You deserve better Sarah so stick to your guns. Messing you around on your first date is a huge red flag. As for time management my hubby is military so we have to know exactly where we will be and when. He goes mad if people change plans last minute. My famous quote is go with the flow, trying to keep the peace. Darren just doesn't understand the concept. I am very laid back but do feel hurt when people mess me about. Hoping you are enjoying Egypt. Take care. Wendy
