Hadn’t listened in years and was curious if they were still using the same opening song. It’s like a truck commercial that could afford a song anyone was familiar with.
I really wish they'd be willing to drop some of the fight night fights that no one cares about for other things in combat sports. It blew my mind that they covered Dolidze vs Imavov or some shit instead of Superlek vs Takeru.
@@gcil6955 Definitely! With the quality of most UFC events I think most people who listen to this show (if they weren't already) gravitate to other combat sports outside of the numbered events. Superlek v Takeru & Beterbiev v Bivol are the best in the world going at it! B v B specifically was such a Conor fight I thought he'd at least bring it up
I kinda get the sense that they don’t realize those fights are occurring until after they happen lol EDIT: never mind they talked about it at the end lol
I'm just hoping to see Taira focus more on his evasive footwork and movement patterns to set up takedowns, rather than focus on the deadliness of his striking. His grappling is so close to the full package that whatever takes him away from it is counterproductive
Holy shit, I've been invested in how spectacular of a failure that this upcoming PFL event is going to be, and am even interested in some of the fights on the card. I did not even notice they didn't mention it. Insanely bad promotion of the event, lmao
@@thesandwich7510PFL promotion for the card has been great imo, better than the ufc usually promotes issue being hat the regular amount of attention they get isn’t making the promotion any easier
Maybe I’m just really tired, but gotta say, I was pretty curious where Connor was going with 21:10 until I realized he was talking about Wikipedia entries 😂😅
Lol. You know I could have sworn he got a new setup earlier this year and it was sounding good.. but seems the British economy has been tough since he’s apparently pawned all of it and went back to dial up 😂
It's quite funny listening to this after Slacky's breakdown of Pereira vs Rountree where he was like "Pereira took this on 3 weeks notice, was ill, at altitude, Rountree didn't kick, or clinch, he just ran in on straight lines" 😂
Halfway through the second round of Aldo Bautista, I knew it would be a decision loss. I saw which way the wind was blowing and I proceeded to return to my game of Civilization V. I don't want to see the king get Merab'd. I enjoy grappling, but you shouldn't be able to win a fight by holding someone against the fence, even if it is fair to say that the one getting held against the fence should have urgency to change the position
Aldo did more damage in the third. I'm surprised Connor was impressed with that win for Bautista.I like Bautista but that was not good. I'm sure he'll turn opinions around next fight. Pennington vs Pena was kind of decent i.n terms of swings in momentum, but was just way too shitty and stupid to be a UFC title fight.
Connor I just want to clear this up as you have pondered it so many times. A significant strike is categorized as any strike at range. It is not reliant on the significance of the strike. No ground strikes, no clinch strikes. I'd rather they simply said distance strikes.
true, and i doubt bautista can replicate that strategy against as many fighters as dvalishvili can. so he may as well have gone down swinging ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Why are they wasting Aldo like this? Just stop giving him young guys we don't know or care about. I wanna watch him destroy Cruz, Garbrand and Dillashaw.
Day 1 of declaring that tapology league be replaced with Heavy Hand-Jobbers’ Quarter Annual Fantasy Fighting Draft. And then day 2 of asking for that I’m still taking their momentum
And just like in bullet games, you dont have to have the prettiest play...as long as you dont make massive blunders you can just break your opponent with the pace of your play
Aldo landed 14 out of 44 strikes to the head, and almost all of them were as Bautista was moving backwards, so they had little effect. I had Aldo winning the round still, but not by much.
