Thanks for the tutorial. When I get to 8:40 in the video to add the Subflow to the triggering flow, I am not able to access a global variable that pulls in the variables I configured in the subflow. I debugged the subflow and it worked, and double-checked my work multiple times and even changed the variables in the subflow to "Available for input" and "Available for output" but that didn't help. Is there a reason I cannot see the global variables from the subflow when I'm setting this up in the Record Triggered flow? Thanks!
Hey Graciela, Make sure the latest version of your subflow that has those variable available for input is active. The parent flow will call the active version which may not have had those variables set to "available for input".
Hey, you can actually pass all the fields into a flow by use a record variable instead of a text variable. Make sure it's still named recordId. Since you'll have all the fields available to you, you'll be able to reference that lookup field.
You could use a Flow for this. Whenever an Opportunity is created, the Flow would then create an Entity Subscription record relating the owner to the new record. developer.salesforce.com/docs/atlas.en-us.object_reference.meta/object_reference/sforce_api_objects_entitysubscription.htm
Quick question: if you've gone through all of the steps to add a new section to your object, but it's not showing up after saving it, is there something that I need to do on the Lightning Record Page? Can you point me in the right direction? Thanks!
If you're using dynamic details in lightning record pages, the sections you define in the page layout no longer apply. You'll need to create those sections directly on the lightning record page.
@Rotive. I did try this flow and it works perfectly fine with the admin user. But when another user tries the flow they get the message "Insufficient privileges". I gave them access to both objects that are in this flow but don't know what else I can do. Would appreciate if you have any idea.
Wow, how do you get your pages to load so fast as you navigate through records, set up, etc? I have found navigation within lightning to load so slowly.
Movie magic. ;) Video editing keeps things moving. Seriously though, the load time in lightning will be impacted by the different components on a page. If you're loading a bunch of related lists on a page, it will slow down. A good tip is to hide some of those components behind tabs so they don't have to be loaded right away.
@Brian - I am working with a screen flow where I would like users to request permission sets to add to a user. Is there a way to add a screen flow component that allows users to multi-select permission sets from a list of all the available permission sets? I don't want to then automatically assign those permission sets, I just want to create a list where users can select them. Is this possible?
This was great! Thank you! I have a question. What if an opportunity shows up multiple times on a from stage because it has gone in and out of that stage a few times. Shouldn't we account for that in the conversion? If the Unique Opportunity count for each stage is less that the row count in each stage should we still use the RowCount for conversion?. If not, and we should use a unique count, how would one go about doing that?
Thank you so much for this video, which was absolutely amazing and eye-opening. I am working towards my admin certification and as part of my own practice and willingness to show my new employer that I know some stuff how do I build my own company details or what do I need to do to create my own fictitious company so I can present that to an employer or to somebody who’s doing the interview for me
At last you commented on the master details relationship on the details object..I think that was misspelt...But no worries the concept explanation was concrete enough enough
thank you so much, the way that you speak english (slow, calm and nature) helps me to easy to understand. I needed exact what you do in this video :) thank you so much :)
Hey there, I'm not sure I understand. Are you saying the Active checkbox is currently unchecked? That would just mean they are an inactive user. You'll be able to check that box again if you have an available license for the user.
Hi Brian. This is an awesome video. Thank you! What are the impacts of creating the roll-up directly in the flow (using Get Record, Loop, Assignment, Update Record) instead of using a subflow? I'm trying to understand why using a subflow for counting the roll-up might be a better strategy.
Hey Noelfry, the only difference here is your efficiency. I don't think there is a difference to the system if you build the logic directly through your primary flow or call it through a subflow. The benefit to use is not having to repeat yourself if you want to use this same logic in multiple places and if you want to update that logic at some point in the future. If you repeated that same logic in a screen flow and multiple record triggered flows and a scheduled flow, you'd have to update it in each place any time you wanted to make a change.
Thanks for the comment! You're right that your sending reputation is determined by your IP and Domain. When you send an email from Salesforce's server, you're using their IP vs. Gmail or Outlook's IP. Most Salesforce users I talk to haven't properly set up their DNS to send from Salesforce's servers with hurts deliverability. Even if you do have that set up properly, I've found that emails sent from CRMs like Salesforce are viewed with more scrutiny than emails send from dedicated email service providers. My theory is that good sending practices aren't enforced to the same degree, so more SPAM gets through hurting the shared IPs reputation and therefore hurting your deliverability. What do you think?
@@Rotivecorrect! I always advise my clients to invest in a dedicated IP if the sends are that important. Albeit it doesn’t altogether remove risk but makes a big difference to reduce them. I’m still a fan of the content - keep doing what you do!
Is there a way to include time period in the chart that have 0 records? I have a 12 month report, but certain times some months have no data, I'd prefer if they showed in the chart as 0, instead of not showing at all. It can be deceptive when it doesn't show at all, and you can almost overlook the lack of 0.
Great, I used this to concatenate up to 70 field values to a Policy Detail field if they were not blank. I then only had to update one field on the Policy object flow!
How can I make it so that the loop updates the quantity but doesn’t add the new quantity? For example, my quantity is going from 1 to 2 and instead of the asset quantity updating to 3, I just want to capture the 2. Should the operator be something different?
A bit late but I have a question about an email campaign that I can't seem to get a clear answer on. We receive leads from an RFI form, so people have opted in. We don't have access to Marketing Cloud. Is there a way to trigger a drip campaign but still allow opting out if people decide? Or do I need to use an appexchange app?
Hey there! Quick question: if a Contact or Account has multiple opportunities (let's call them A and B), is it possible to see updates made in opportunity A reflected in opportunity B? By the way, great video!
What's the "Total Price = null" work around really doing? Im looking into implementing product schedules, but im getting an exponential increase in price opp over opp. Is there a work around to make sales price of the new opp products = prior total / 12?
Thanks for the video! Whats my best option to keep the schedule start dates inline with a custom billing start date field? We always bill on the first of the month for recurring subscriptions. Should I use a flow? Is there a more efficient way to add logic to the schedule start date default?
I spent 30 minutes on this and didn't have any luck. Thank you for the tutorial, so easy to do yet it's a bit difficult to know that user checkbox was the solution. Saved me a lot of time!
Hello! I deployed this in my org. I added the scanner to a repeater, created a loop and a collection variable to collect the scans and feed them into a note. The note is then saved on my object will all the data. However, I am having a hard time creating a line break between the data. How would I do so?
