Research the average salaries for careers related to your potential major to ensure it meets your financial goals. 5️⃣ Trust your gut: Ultimately, you need to feel good about your choice. Choose a major that feels right for you, even if it’s not the most conventional path.
🐻 First, Brown’s open curriculum was tempting, but I realized that I wasn’t too excited about my major related classes and would be better off with a structured program like USC’s to stay focused. Plus, Providence couldn’t compare to the vibrant life in LA, where USC’s location offers endless opportunities in entertainment and digital media.
🌐 Duke’s strong academics and sports culture were appealing, but USC’s top-ranked Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism won me over. Yes, I would’ve loved to attend Duke if I were keen on studying business but at USC, the unique combination of media, digital arts, and game development aligned perfectly with my passions and career goals.
🌲 Dartmouth’s close-knit community and beautiful campus were hard to pass up, but the sunny weather and bustling city life of Los Angeles were unbeatable. USC’s dynamic campus life, with its balance of academics and extracurriculars, matched my lifestyle perfectly.
