My last company ran a lot of those and I really liked them. We ran them hard and they were very reliable. Good straightforward access to fuel, all checks and battery. Never needed to do more than just regular maintenance. They are not a flashy or exciting machine, just a good solid digger which is always a win.
Tractors run over the grass before they mow it, so you get strips of long grass between your rows. The 430 is an end-of-life product, and Deere has quit supplying essential parts like hydraulic cylinders. I have one of these. Great for people who like repairing old machines every week. Not good for mowing yards. I am looking for a good used Kubota diesel zero-turn. The grille on that thing is worth about $800 by itself because they fall off and get crushed, and John Deere does not make them any more. The muffler lists for $383. The oil plug is OVER the deck, and removing the deck is a disk-rupturing nightmare. I can't say enough bad things about it.
I bought one of these about 10 years ago and use it with a 6 foot Mott flail mower The glow plugs quit working not long after I bought it so I had to use a shot of starting fluid in the intake to get it to start when cold. The tach quit working and I can not find a replacement. it has a bug in the electrical system that drains the battery if I do not disconnect the positive cable All in all it is still a good little tractor though.
Sir I have a 2016 bobcat t550 . I want to do a hydraulic fluid change but want to drain as much as possible out of system. Do you have a video or can let me know what I need to do ? Thank you for the video !
The ‘break back’ design is convoluted. Takes me anywhere from 10-30 minutes to reset the bar after it breaks back. You need a small tractor like in this vid. If your right rear wheel sticks out past the close end of the cutter, then it continuously hangs up grass on the close end. Mower doesn’t like thick hay. Don’t try to mow until the dew dries thoroughly. Discbines cost too much & eat too much diesel. Get a disc mower.
[thank, you for you're video.👍 i,nim. In the market for a good used equipment trailer. I, know someone right now is got the same trailer forsale for $3 thousand his is a 1988]
Wow!!! You have no idea what is going on in my life at the moment! I hope you get the day you deserve!!! If you have nothing nice to say, say nothing at all!! If you have a problem with me call me (814)658-3066 and tell me like a man, not like a child! I have to go to work now so people like you can sit at home and make fun of people! Thanks Nick
Very cool! I wonder what 8 lead transmission means though? I have a 1975 546 with the snow cannon and 30" bush hog deck and mostly use it in the summer to cut my horse pasture weeds. My old non-steering sulky is ok, but I really like that steering sulky you show here. I see the machine also has a steering brake but it doesn't look like you used it at all, just the sulky steering wheel?
