I have a perspective on both, and can advise that to anyone who DOESN'T have tinnitus - the insanity of the cicadas is a very good taste of what perpetual tinnitus is like. But for most folks the insanity of humans is FAR worse, urban, suburban, airport, etc. You have to go deep into wilderness to fully appreciate cicadas or any other wildlife noises. I don't know of anyone driven mad by noise, but humans, cicadas & tinnitus are equal rivals for that ignoble prize. But sure, cicadas are better than a jet plane to create 'white noise '... but not much better. Where I'm from they also presage summer & lazy holidays so maybe have a kind of hypnotic quality you wouldn't want to perform brain surgery to...

There's another things play a part in the equation.. which is the spiritual hidden world or to be accurate it's satanic world.. This is very interesting! I have a few questions: So, when the female dies and the dominant male becomes female, the larger non-dominant male will become the new dominant male. What if one of the non-dominant males will become larger than the dominant one. Will that one become the new dominant? What happens to the once dominant male? Or isn't it possible for others to become larger than the dominant male until he becomes a female or dies? And from the undifferentiated fish, how does one become the largest and future dominant? Is it predetermined that one will be born bigger from the start, or is there like a society dominance thing that will stipulate who is to become larger than the others?

I really want to hear him elaborate on his response to that last question- he wishes he has been less ambitious?! was sort of shocked to hear this. Does that mean he is unhappy with his current place in life & where the ambition brought him?
I think everyone has some sort of tinnitus if they listen close enough when everything is silent. However, I experienced all sorts of ear issues when I woke up one morning and lost low frequency hearing and my hearing in one ear was all messed up. I had so many different ear issues like, Hyperacusis for a couple of hours, very bad tinnitus, Diplacusis. All of these were experienced at different times. Everything was distorted in that ear. I was told and read that it would not get better, but lucky after about 2 years it got better slowly until everything seems perfect now.
