We played three continuous matches against different families lasting over one hour in total. Dad wore the costume throughout with his peripheral vision somewhat limited by the mask. He said it’s pretty hot & quite difficult to breathe during the games, but growing up in hot & humid Indonesia where badminton is a national sport means he is used to it. He was fully drenched in sweat by the end of the last game. Our gratitude to coach Yuli, uncle Raymond and aunty Annie for organising the competition. What a great analysis!! I've been hoping BWF would have this kind of detailed stats available for each match, similar to what ATP/WTA has been doing in tennis. This is the 8th edition of An-Yu and Tan & Tan Lawyers Family Cup. In this competition, children partner their parents to play against other families. This is a very fun and engaging social activity to encourage friend and family bonding through the sport of badminton. This is also THE occasion when my dad wears crazy costume. He wore Pokémon, Ride on Baby, Ninja Turtle and Chimpanzee in previous years. His theme for this year is STAR WARS. Not satisfied with a Yonex racket, he replaced it with a lightsaber and employed the Force lightning! Yup, the only time you see Darth Vader using Force lightning!
