5:42 I think you are wrong there, its quite the opposite. Porsche barely survived the 1990, and resource wise, BMW was in way better shape at that time. With the Cayenne being one the models turning the tide. Porsche was far from being the financial powerhouse they are today.
That transmission... The true star of the show. Yes the engine was insane but that transmission was the key component. I always thought the engine was the most amazing part of the M3GTR but i watched a in-depth video on the drivetrain of the M3GTR and that transmission.... German engineering perfection.
The CLKGTR is the one that did backflips at LeMans. Less than inspiring control and precision. It did do well at other tracks, but initially it was a terrifying handful even with the most capable drivers
I'd add the M635CSi as a contender for underrated BMW racing cars. It dominated the touring car scene in the early-mid 1980s, setting the stage for the E30 M3.
Waaaay better then maxi pad aka maxBcrashin. Alonso made them literary change the rules that a good driver not a spolied brat with a fast car. He deserves the triple crown i hope he wins the indy 500
The 3.0 or 3.5 CSL are a work of art & proper mean screaming machines, same with 320i Group 5 fire breathing boosted monster (DRM revival mod for AC🤗). E30 M3 Gr.A is a perfectly balanced power to weight racing platform, same with the M1, like ALL 4 of these beauties, normally asperated or boosted these BMW's are timeless perfection👌 imho. I've only ever driven them in Assetto Corsa's simulator, If you ever want to see what they'd feel like, grab a simrig & AC I did🤠 (If I ever won a lottery, I'd be looking for anyone of these & ALL 4 if was a big enough win).
Brought back great memories of days at the track and hanging out in the paddock. Got to talk with Hans Stuck before he hopped into his 320i turbo at Sears Point... and yes, I did get to hear his signature yodel in victory lane. Caught Sam Posey's name on the 3.5 CSL in the video. Narrator's voice sounds remarkably like Sam's...
Not Ayrton Senna? The driver that Schumacher stated in an interview given during him returning to Mercedes stating he believed him to be the greatest of all time?
