For over 50 years, Kartemquin Films has been making documentaries that examine and critique society through the stories of real people. Focusing on people whose lives are most directly affected by social and political change and who are often overlooked or misrepresented by the media, Kartemquin's films open up a dialogue, both in communities and between the general public and policymakers.
Telling u NOT many things are as valuable in basketbal as a "Quick first step" Basically the same as acceleration in football. Its not always how fast you are at top speed but how quickly u can reach top speed
Earl was sort of painted as a bad guy based on what happened to Arthur. He actually saw Arthur’s potential and wanted to help him. He was doing work for the school, but he had a good eye for talent. Had Penagator saw what Earl saw, I don’t think he would have let Arthur go.
Never debunked. Was political, not scientific. Feminists wanted to deflect blame off of bad mothers: According to Peter Breggin's 1991 book Toxic Psychiatry, the psychogenic theory of autism was abandoned because of political pressure from parents' organizations, not for scientific reasons. For example, some case reports have shown that profound institutional privation can result in quasi-autistic symptoms. Clinician Frances Tustin devoted her life to the theory. She wrote: "One must note that autism is one of a number of children's neurological disorders of psychogenic nature, i.e., caused by abusive and traumatic treatment of infants. ...There is persistent denial by American society of the causes of damage to millions of children who are thus traumatized and brain damaged as a consequence of cruel treatment by parents who are otherwise too busy to love and care for their babies." Alice Miller, one of the best-known authors of the consequences of child abuse, has maintained that autism is psychogenic, and that fear of the truth about child abuse is the leitmotif of nearly all forms of autistic therapy known to her. When Miller visited several autism therapy centers in the United States, it became apparent to her that the stories of children "inspired fear in both doctors and mothers alike": "I spent a day observing what happened to the group. I also studied close-ups of children on video. What became clearer and clearer as the day went on was that all these children had a serious history of suffering behind them. This, however, was never referred to....In my conversations with the therapists and mothers, I inquired about the life stories of individual children. The facts confirmed my hunch. No one, however, was willing to take these facts seriously." Like Arieti and Tustin, Miller believes that only empathetic parental attitudes lead to the complete blossoming of the child's personality.

This is ridiculous. Blame the mothers for a disorder. OK. Do we blame every mother out there that has a child that turns out to be a murderer, drug user, alcoholic, rapist, abuser? What a joke.

Crush much, sisters? These 2 nuns, especially the one on the right, have a little crush on this guy. They both probably left the convent within the next year. Who can blame them? There wasn’t much to stay for. I hope they both married well and had wonderful children and are having lots of fun with their grandchildren now. Hope they still go to Mass!❤
Coach ping was selfish and trying to get gates to play like Zeke and Arthur was a better player than gates . If i had a son i wouldn't want him to play for coach ping
The notion that this woman absconded with 53 million dollars is truly astonishing. However, it is deemed irresponsible that the author of The Producers deemed it necessary to delve into the intricate details of her actions. There was no justification for such an elaborate exposition, as most viewers would have been more interested in how she spent the money and her behavior during the circumstances. In my opinion, this documentary or TV show displays a significant lack of responsibility, potentially inspiring others with misguided notions. I was extremely disheartened by this and ultimately chose to switch it off.
Hey! You can't just make assertions without proof, evidence or references . . . *Qur'an 9:29* "Fight against those who do not believe in Allāh or in the Last Day." *Qur'an 8:12* "I shall cast t____r into the hearts of those who disbelieved, so strike them upon the necks" *Qur'an 9:111* “Allah has indeed purchased from the believers their lives and wealth in exchange for Paradise. They fight in the cause of Allah and k__ or be k____.” *Qur'an 9:123* “Believers! Fight against the disbelievers who are near to you; and let them find harshness in you. Know that Allah is with the God-fearing. O ye who believe!” *Qur'an 47:4* “So when you meet those who disbelieve, strike their necks until, when you have inflicted slau _______ upon them, then secure their bonds, and either confer favor afterwards or ransom them until the war lays down its burdens. That is the command. And those who are k______ in the cause of Allah . . . never will He waste their deeds.”
Islam, the most intolerant religion in the world, introduced by a manchauvinist pedophile from Meccah who had sex with a nine year old - how can we expect his followers to be?
You can't just blurt out things like that without proofs, evidence, citations . . . *Sahih al-Bukhari vol 5 bk 58:236* “Allah's Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) married Aisha when she was 6 years old, and _consummated_ when she was 9” *Qur'an 65:1, 4* "When divorcing women, know their waiting period. For women past the age of menstruation, their waiting period is 3 months - and those who have _NOT_ menstruated yet as well." *Sahih al-Bukhari vol 7 book 62 number 64:* “Allah's Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) married her when she was 6 years old and he _consummated_ his marriage when she was 9 years old” *Sahih al-Bukhari vol 7, book 62, nr 65:* “Allah's Prophet (Peace Be Upon Him) married her when she was 6 years old and he _consummated_ his marriage when she was 9 years old.."
Well said 👏 Sir. This is why I will never enlist in the military 🪖. America 🇺🇸 is still to racist. You want me to fight for a country that doesn't respect me as a human being? Not happening
Gene Pingatore died in summer of ‘19. St Joe’s died 2 years later Intentional or not, Pingatore came across in the film like a total 🅰️🕳️ From essentially kicking Agee out of SJ after making empty promises to constantly riding Gates & not helping him w/his off-the-court issues. He was the polar opposite of Ken Reeves of the “White Shadow”
As a father of two adult children with autism (who are doing fine now, but God knows what we have been through), I find this man's ideas very disturbing, particularly given the fact that even today there are psychologists who seem to wish to do the 'blaming-game' all over again. His basic fallacy is working from a theory and adjusting the observations to the pre-established idea, instead of drawing conclusions from objective observations. Autism is to a large extent hereditary and has no connection with a special kind of upbringing. Certainly parents can emotionally damage a child if they are incapable of the basic parenting skills, but with autism the rejection of the parents by the child can start as early as the first days after birth, before any sort of parenting is even possible. Fortunately, as the child grows older it can learn to attach to the parents and have a cognitive development if it feels save and secure, with a lot of structure in daily activities. The child-development is not 'natural' but needs a lot of outside stimulation, mostly from the parents, according to a worked out plan. Otherwise the child will find comfort in too much repetition and learn very little. Also I would recommend CBD-oil to help the child calm its nerves when overstimulated (extra dose), and as a regular supplement three times a day. It's expensive, it doesn't work miracles, but could decrease emotional outbursts with 60%. Also keeping your child on the ground with blanket/pillow during a meltdown, to give it time to calm itself (for hours in the beginning) can in the long run be very effective. The constraint gives the child safety and the mind can reorganise itself, which could lead to selfcorrection and more assertiveness.

She got to live out her dream, not many people get to do that. I think that's what attracts so many to this story. And the fact that there were no real repercussions of course. That's the dream, right?
i see that in America you have e real issue about racism, because i get the feeling that new types of racism are found by the minute, and the issue gets deeper and deeper, with no real solution ahead. Gives the feeling that you are (as us in europe) getting worse by the years. How to fix that and to mend all that grief and hostility.... i don´t see a solution in the horizon, and it´s a damn shame, because we are wasting so much ressources on a war that is being going on for too long... it is sad, and i feel that in our continent (europe) we are also heading that way...but overall, very interesting having the perspective whithin. keep working and good luck there. i am going to check out more of that work. thank you
