Okay okay. The parents said number for poison control, and Luke said that his mouth is asleep like at the dentist. Does this mean Luke's mouth feels numb like what happens when a dentist injects local anesthetic into the mouth? The parents were asking for the number to poison control. What did Haley put in those cupcakes? Did she put some ingredient that acts like an anesthetic? I want to know.
Probably just a fun coincidence but Matthew Fox basically does a rendition of Matthew 12:22 “Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand.”
It's so tragic how Rosie wasn't some rich, spoiled kid who wanted to go globetrotting in luxury or anything like that. She didn't want to go to college on her parents' dime. She just wanted to go on an adventure. She was willing to earn her own way, be independent, and see where life took her. That's the kind of kid who most deserves to chase their dreams. She was so idealistic, but not in a naive or entitled way.
Locke saw a bright light from the Smoke Monster scanning him and thought that was beautiful. Mr. Eko saw only the dark smoke. Ben saw images from his past, so maybe Mr. Eko also saw dark scenes like that? In any case Locke was deceived as Jack was by Smokey. Smokey claimed he wanted Jack to find water, but he really wanted Jack to kill himself falling off a cliff so there'd be one less candidate who cared about other people. Once they established the time loop, then almost everything had to happen the way it happened to prevent paradox (though the compass became a paradox). Thus the answer to every "what if?" became, "It couldn't have happened that way." No free will makes for bad stories.
Reminds me how I got my daughter to eat healthy well made meals I'd never eat but it's what was made for dinner. Take a bite and say, if I can eat it, so can you. She would and I'd go quickly to the sink to get the taste out of my mouth. :p

Yeah true detective was something else. This was good the only problem was they dragged it way too much. That us exactly where true detective shined. They mastered the art of telling the story with way less.
