Traffic were an English rock band formed in Birmingham, England in April 1967 by Steve Winwood, Jim Capaldi, Chris Wood and Dave Mason. Inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2004. Regarded as one of the most important British rock groups of our generation being one of the first experimental psychedelic rock bands of that era to infuse, Classical, folk, jazz, all kinds of ethnic music, country music, early rock and blues. With unforgettable hits like Dear Mr. Fantasy, The Low Spark of High-Heeled Boys and John Barleycorn Must Die, which saw the dynamic writing partnership between Steve Winwood and lyricist Jim Capaldi.
Best song they did imo. I went and bought the album after only hearing it played once on the radio. I don't think Traffic ever got the recognition they deserved!
And a whole lot of us did and have. Awesome band and was great to be alive and tuned in at their start. Just think of all those that had the head in a hole in the ground, and still do.
A great late night winedown song. The 70s had so much diversity and talent, from Bowie to ZZ top. My thanks to God For my presents in that time frame to Experience all of it !
Forever grateful. Their live concerts at the Santa Monica Civic taught me what is beyond just adequate,and are still setting the standard for what Art can and should be.. ❤️🎶🎶
Exactamundo.. it's early stages of my teen years as a greaser 3-in Cuban heels with horseshoe cleats 2 years of high school o n e year of Junior High School. Sir good 1969 when sticks as TW4 Played at my 8th grade graduation in the basement of a Catholic grade school. Then they became Styx as you now know them. Yeah they lived about 5 miles from me in Roseland next to West Palm and where they make Pullman standard trains and they have a factory that's over a mile long. Yes the great history of Chicago
