We originally started to to post our videos to RU-vid as keepsakes for ourselves. Soon we realized our family and friends wanted to watch them as well to get ideas / tidbits on future travel destinations. Asking questions like what worked out well, what didn't, was it kid friendly, was it a place for all to see, was it laid back, was it expensive and so on. So we kept making videos. We do it because it's fun. Markis has learned so much just watching RU-vid Videos. Markis often says that he learned more from RU-vid than when he got his degree in college. It is such fun to sit at a family get together watching our videos, seeing the reactions and the conversations that get started. We started out with just a Go Pro, IPHONES, and an DJI Osmo. If you like camping, rv-ing, camping, hiking, backpacking, snorkeling, mountains and or beaches subscribe and follow our adventures...
Starting your Colorado journey at Great Sand Dunes National Park sounds amazing! 🏜 Vanlife in your Thor Scope Camper Van, with dunes on one side and snow-capped mountains on the other, must have been incredible. Camping, sledding, hiking, and enjoying nature's peace and quiet - what an adventure! Thanks for sharing your experience. Cheers, Simon - Tales From Abroad
Amazon, lol. I ordered an extender hitch, the hitch, and tire, rim. Found it a lot cheaper! Then I found a tire dealer to mount it on rim for me. I bought locks from Walmart.
Absolutely amazing nice sound. Guys I recommended you visit the himalayan mountains k2 and Nangaparbat view point from one place moses peak Gilgit-Baltistan Barah Valley. Add this sound in your bucket list.
BPM Pro screen has to be charged. I have to take it out and plug it in sometimes to get it to turn on. It’s probably because it’s constantly going into sleep mode. I ordered another just like it from Amazon so I may rig up a new solution dunno yet! It works just sometimes won’t get enough charge plugged in camper.
Other than the dealer as a resource, can you share video links where it walk you through step by step as to what to do when stopping to boondocks - what gets turned on first, second, etc. I just bought a Thor Scope 18M. Thanks.
Love your video. My last trip to Colorado Springs was a few years ago...next trip I want to go to the Garden of the God's...looks overwhelmingly awesome! Great background music 👍
So first the sand is a bit wet you’ll need to cake the wax on then next step is to buff it. Lightly rub it three times on tye sand. This will give you a better take off. If you take iff better you will have the speed to carry you through down the hill. Have fun guys
I’m torn between this and the 18G model. How do you find the sleeping situation? It would be my husband and I. We’re both not very tall. Do you know the dimensions of the bed when extended?
Ok, I’m intrigued about the little cooker you used and the beef stroganoff pkg. Did you find on Amazon? Do you use the cooktop much? I have the sister to your Scope a Rize. So I’m always interested in the different methods we all use. Thanks for sharing. Safe travels in CO. 😉
We love the Jet Boil and have used several times. We did purchase on Amazon and Peak Refuel packets are available. They come in handy while hiking or a quick meal in camper. We do use the cooktop some, mainly for breakfast though. Thanks for being part of our journeys and happy travels!
Inexcusable major issues time after time. I’m surely NOT going to buy this model or even test drive one. I hope you’re enjoying some satisfaction after all the misery it has caused your family 🙏🏻❤️✝️
I just got one - but I must say I'm a little nervous about some of the negative reviews. But the price was good and the floor plan and size just what need. How is the off-grid capabilities been for you? Trouble with anything falling apart?
About to have my first grandchild and he will be comfy in my Thor I see. Thank u! Great plan on front seat, will be buying an air mattress to do the same
Hi Tates! I have same van, and I was wondering about a couple things and ya all have figured it all out! My rear right door (looking from inside) will not open! Almost like maybe a cable came off, not sure. Have you any experience with the rear doors? Also. They told me I could not add a spare b/c I’m not able to change a flat on this here rig, they said I would need a special jack. Help lol. I’m very capable chick and can change a tire (I guess I can) so is there really a special jack, etc needed? I hate hate hate not having a spare :) ya all are awesome! Keep rolling! May I email ya?
@@TatesTravel thank you. I have roadside also but was wondering if I am even able to Jack it up lol. I am getting the spare to keep with me so roadside can just change it. Great advice. Thank you SO much! Happy & safe travels!
We also have the SCOPE 18M, and it’s interesting because we’ve chosen to sleep with our feet toward the back of the van, closer to the bathroom so it’s easier to slither out at night if you need to use the facilities.
My favorite park ( not just because I live in Whitefish) ! But there is so much to do outside the park, so many places to hike that are gorgeous as well. Hello from a fellow Thor owner. ( Scope 18m)
I was looking at a class b RV for the exact same reasons. I want to just go! Stop where I want to stop for however long I want to be there. Plus I’d be able to go through cities and beaches and park in any regular spot. You can’t do that with a typical RV. Plus who wants to tow when you can have the convenience of having something like this? I won’t deny this had me concerned being that we’d be a first time RV owner. 😮 I wondered if you knew what the difference between the Scope and Rize. They seem exactly the same. I was actually looking at the 18G model.
@@TatesTravelYou have no regrets even after the downpour? I’m actually looking at the 18M now. Do you recommend? Curious, is there enough room for 2 people to sleep when the sofa converts to the bed? Do you know the dimensions?
@@TatesTravel and you’re still loving it? Thor has a negative reputation so I’m concerned about going with Thor but the fact is that many manufacturers fall under the Thor umbrella. I really wanted something this size and there aren’t many options with this floor plan.
Next time you are in downtown Portsmouth, come see us for an adventure. We are on Congress Street (Vaughan Mall) across the street from The Goat. We agree with your statement that "Portsmouth is the gift that keeps on giving"! BTW, Portsmouth has 6 breweries with a 7th that just opened and all are great. Thank you for visiting our beautiful little city.
