Hi Kayleigh! Great video. Question - do you use the pitching portfolio for modeling agencies when you need models for commercial work? I watched your video on approaching agencies for test shoots where you mention a different process of including a few images in the email along with a mood board.
Great video, thanks! Was wondering what you do if you have shadows on the backdrop, like when you have somebody sitting on a seamless backdrop and you do a full body shot?
If your clients don't want retouching, how much do you usually charge per image? Because there is of course still time spent processing and colour grading, do you charge a flat fee for a package of images, a $ amount per image, or perhaps all your images are retouched? Thank you, I appreciate your transparency in this video! It's so so hard to price your work when everyone is so vague and you only have what your clients say yes or no to as a guide.
Such beautiful lighting you got from that window. I never used natural light in a studio. Wonder how it affects the aperture. Can you still shoot at f8 using window lights? 🤔
You could, but there's a few things to consider. Since f8 is such a small aperture, either a direct sunlight shining through a diffused window or b you increase the iso or decrease the shutter speed to match
@iAmAdrianClarke is correct! I used a smaller aperture however I adjusted my ISO higher to compensate. In this case I quite often like a bit of grain in my images so I didn’t mind the noise creeping in a little. 😊
HI Im trying this and the painting brush isn't working. I followed the instructions and made sure I am painting with same colour and nothing is appearing.
I usually default to a round-trip to Photoshop, but a great point to do as much global editing in Lightroom in RAW before working in Photoshop. I might make a Lightroom preset!
This is exactly where I am today, I did a lot of unplanned test shoot in the last 2 years, I could work on my skills to shoot quickly and adapt to different locations but I feel i just reached the limit of what I can produce spontaneously with no ideas. Time to plan things more precisely now!
Great! My approach to the color grade in Lightroom is almost the same. 🙂 I agree that Lightroom should be used to have better control of the pictures. Thank you again!
Thank you for the awesome video. I'm a beauty influencer in Korea, and I want to take close-up shots of eye and lip makeup. I'm using r50 right now, would 100mm be okay for the crop body, or would 85mm be okay? (I'm using a sigma 18-50 right now) I need some advice🥹
I mean if you're trying to change the model's features to make them fit a more universal ideal of beauty, then sure, compress the heck of her face with a 100mm. She won't recognize herself. The model in this video has a larger nose. Compare times 1:40 and 4:20. That's why every photographer should have a fast 50mm prime in their bag.
Hello Kayleigh, You are already very good at post production retouching, But If by any chance you need someone to retouch your photography images , I will be glad to work for you as a freelance. Even though I don’t have a professional experience yet, i completely trust on my skills. And Huuuge Congratulations for 100k subscribers 🙂.
Thank you so much for these tutorials. They really are so freaking helpful. Also thank you for mentioning alternative keyboard buttons between Mac and PC. Sometimes when I Google I can’t quite find the answer. 🫶🏽
