My niece (who lives in Europe) asked me what kind of music I listened to... Weird as it is, I answered her question with these videos.
I think I love to drive a little too much. I've even learned to enjoy traffic jams... sometimes (if I'm not running late and the weather is nice.) Find a good song and make the best of it!
I like a wide variety of music from many different genres, parts of the world, languages (most of which I don't understand,) and time periods past and present. MUSIC is UNIVERSAL
Considering this channel evolved accidentally in so many ways I've not mentioned... I hope I can give some kind of peace, joy, excitement, laughter.... something (hopefully) positive, amongst my sometimes, "frustration" (so sorry) with other drivers, that are clueless about anything to do with driving, or they are busy on their phones (like the guy who rear-ended me in June '24), don't use blinkers, merge on/off Freeway too slow, or "CAMP" the left lane...
Hey Ms. Susie! This is definitely one of the best drives [and music], but I was disappointed that the video cut out right before the epic, climactic battle at the end!
@@BrianB-yy3ru I know. But for where my home is, in a flat af (part of)Texas... this is sooo high, lol. I've driven the Rockies in Colorado. Also Mountains in Northern Cali, Oregon, Washington, Montana and Wyoming. Also the Appalachians ("baby" mountains, lol)... I do understand your point. I just have no recent footage of anything higher than the Ozarks. They have become the "baby" mountains nearest my house😊
@@KFC-Warrior LOL... Thank you. It's My Ancient Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and a $13 window phone mount. I also put a piece of black material above my mount to block some sunlight & heat. A lot of footage used to get ruined by excessive sunlight entering the camera lens. Also if I'm driving in direct sunlight too long it will overheat the phone and it will turn off completely. So, as a final measure to keep the show going, I point some of the a/c vents in the car at the phone (obviously not too much, or it completely ruins the audio.) I've definitely had to learn to adjust the audio sound settings (while driving) to keep the bass from destroying my footage. This happened a lot at the beginning of my video uploads. I've tried to adapt. I'm still evolving trying to improve.
Nevermind, I looked it up. Wow. I never knew. Now I know more about why I make them in the first place and why anyone in the world would watch me drive. Thank you for leaving your comment so I could learn something new today🥰
@@ChildhoodShorts The song is "Borderline" by Tove Styrke. The Land Cruiser decided it was time to go into VGRS Test Mode yesterday morning. Toyota had to recalibrate my truck to fix it. In the meantime, they gave me a brand new Camry to break in while I waited on them to finish. They said it could take till next week to fix it. They got it done by day's end. So happy I took her for a spin before they called. I had no faith in a Hybrid before yesterday (this isn't my first hybrid.) But I have to say, I was truly impressed by the power and overall performance of the Camry. The girl at the rental place said the Camry was "fun" to drive. I doubted her... so I put it to the test... she was right😅
That can get expensive and frustrating. Could be a number of things including steering rack, an actuator, water/corrosion in a wiring harness, low battery or whatever. Often times a “fix” is made, only for the problem to return later.
Years ago I had a Toyota truck with the 3.4 V6; I changed the oil myself religiously, but the engine blew up at around 67k miles while pulling a trailer from Chicago to Phoenix. Of course, the trailer was much too heavy and I had the pedal to the floor for most of those 28 + hours of driving, but still, it was a Toyota! And Toyota is supposed to be bulletproof! LOL
@@ChildhoodShorts Yeah, they warned me about that. I've done research. If it truly goes south in the future it can cost around $4000 to fix. No bueno. Just glad I'm good, for now.
@@donalddday7741 I take it I pass that coming down the mountain? Lol. Seriously though, I purposely drive smack dab through the Ozarks on my way from Texas to Indiana (and back) every time I go. I love Tennessee and Kentucky (which are the other route to my destination) but are sadly in the flatter parts of the two states for the route in need to take. So, I prefer the trip through the elevation changes and beautiful scenery I get along Northern Arkansas and Southern Missouri. I absolutely love it there! I've said it many times before... Arkansas is a highly underrated state. The Ozarks, the Pig Trail, the amazing roads and countryside. Leslie, Arkansas on Hwy 65 is my favorite general area. But anywhere about 60 min in either direction is just "wow." Also, I'm a big fan of AR-23.
My girl eats almost 9 mi/gal... I need momentum to get up the hill without putting stress on my engine. But it also feels amazing to glide along like that... almost like flying🥰
@@ChildhoodShorts It's after 8pm on a Sunday. Most of that whole day was smooth sailing. Sunday (excluding holidays) is "usually" the best travel day if you have a lot of miles to cover in a day.
Beautiful scenery! Makes me want to move there. You must have like a million miles on your car by now! LOL. Trying to guess by the shape of the hood…Land Cruiser?
@@ChildhoodShorts Yes, L.C. it is lol. I've put a lot of miles on her since I got her, but it's why I bought her... she can handle all the miles and she's cheap to maintain (unlike my last truck.)
@@ChildhoodShorts I've been to Nevada, if that's what you mean. Crossed through the entire state. Slept in Tonopah (mid-way-ish.) Never driving the "Open Ranch" at sunset and nighttime ever again! Lol. I'm sticking to daytime for that part of Nevada. I actually loved the desolation and isolation. Felt quite eery/freeing at the same time. Thank goodness my car held up. No Signal. No OnStar. Nothing. Total Dead Zone. Almost no other cars ever. But we were fine. A few cows that hopped on to the road unannounced and gave us a few tire screeching stops that almost took us and a few cows out... but luckily, I managed to avoid contact with all cows thanks to good reflexes and some driving skills. Slow and steady through the open range at night for me. I drove 35 mph in a 70 for about 90 miles. To top it off... I did it driving down the center of a two lane (one lane each direction) road. Unless there was traffic coming at me or from behind. If they came up behind me, I'd move out of the middle, activate my hazards and slow down even more and signal with my arm out the window to pass me. Then once the car passed, back into the middle I went. Your state was a "trip" if you meant Las Vegas
I know what you mean, having driven through the desert at night many times years ago, and I will never do it again unless absolutely necessary. Very scary, especially w/no phone service. I love the desert and the wide-open spaces [in the DAYTIME], but starting to miss the foliage and the change of seasons back home.
@@ChildhoodShorts If you want more country drive videos... scroll down really far in my videos. You'll find some more there😉(... some are older and poorer quality.)
You remind me of myself in my younger days [“therapy drives”]! I did that a lot. Most memorable was final day of school when I came home, packed up the car, took a short nap, and then headed southwest on I-55 towards Phoenix, AZ to briefly escape the suffocating claustrophobia of life in Chicago. I drove about 28 hours straight, stopping only for gas. I’ll never forget the exhilaration of the windows down, the stereo and exhaust blaring, the open skies and the feeling of just getting away from it all!
@@ChildhoodShorts Just saw the rest of your message lol... I had only seen the first sentence with my earlier reply, sorry. Your Arizona escape trip sounds 🔥!! Thank you for sharing 🥰
Thank you 😊 I wish I drove for a living, but all my videos are either personal errands, roadtrips, vacations or therapy drives. Mostly, personal errands though.
@@karenwoolsey6516 Every storm changes it a little more. It's tough to live along the coast. Pretty cool, that you've been in my neck of the woods too!🥰
The camera's view makes things appear farther than they are. Sorry, I don't like anyone directly in front of me when traveling at high speed. I felt cut off. I should have worded it better. Had it recommended to change the title and did as such.
lol, clicked on it to see what "steals my buddy" was about. answer: nothing. might as well have been "cuts me off, piloted by an android from Mars attempting to influence the presidential election." on the other hand, the song is killer. Allman Brothers rock. sound quality: 2 out of 10. but still enjoyable.
Lol... I see your point one some things, but not the sound quality bit. There is no mp3 that I attached to the video. It's the factory speakers inside my car with road noise, engine noise and occasionally wind from sunroof or windows. My sound is rarely good quality, sorry. I will work on properly wording my videos in the future. Your input has been noted
It is quite ugly, yes lmao... But I moved here as a kid and Houston has truly become home... ugly or not. Roadtrips are the greatest because everything is so beautiful wherever we go... but that Downtown Skyline looks so beautiful depending on how the sun and the clouds are positioned as sunrise/sunset. I Love it!!
