I'm curious how long the actual printing time was. The heat bed on the vyper takes forever to heat up. I think I'll be able to get this thing printing faster when I get the y axis dialed in. It is currently my biggest bottleneck.
I'm not sure which wire you are referencing? There is some glue residue on a fan wire that in the video makes it look like there might be a cut. The four wires going from pi to the tool head were just scraps I had laying around to use for testing. I put some heat shrink tubing on them just to hold them in place while I want for my actual canbus cable to get delivered.
Did you print your cable chain on the back?? I recently got my sv08 and I really like it.. I havent done much fine tuning at all, been waiting for 2.4 ghz wifi and my tables I ordered for it.. I got a cable chain that came with my enclosure but Its black :P
It is a very nice machine. I printed the cable chain before I got the enclosure. It was just some cheap elegoo pla. When I got the enclosure, I didn't feel the need to switch them out.
Is the bambulab clone better htan the original one? I got a few new hardened nozzle from sovol, what is suppose to be a fix from the original one. But I also have a bambu clone here, dunno which one I use.
I never had any real problems with the original hotend. I just really wanted to print some abrasive filaments, and I didn't want to wait for Sovol to release their hardened steel nozzles.
I have the same model weed eater, but my bump cap has reverse threads...so keep an eye out for that possibility. Also, my bump cap and string spool is red in color.
For the price of them, I wouldn't be surprised if they just used whatever they had when throwing them together. I ended up replacing the head with a gator head with nylon blades.
I really like the SV08, but honestly I don't have much experience with many other printers. I can only compare it to my SV06+ and anycubic vyper. Compared to those it is in a completely different class.
What is the difference between the Micro-Swiss nozzles as it applies to the SV08? From what I’ve been reading, I understand why you want to upgrade from a Sovol stock SV08 hot end to a Micro-Swiss one (I get its better, and you can swap other nozzles in/out, too), but I’m confused over the PROs and CONs of the nozzle variants. Thanks! -Mark
The biggest reason for me is convenience. At this time, I believe the only place to get new nozzles for the SV08 is from sovol directly. The micro-swiss nozzles are available with next day shipping from amazon. I am sure the flow rate will be the same, if not better.
That does sound very similar. I might have to pick one of those ferrite beads. I re-secured the data cable connections shortly after making this short and that seems to have worked. It has been about a week since I have had the disconnect error.
add more/better cooling for the main board, or do like I did and replace the main board with something like an octopus pro ez. I kept getting random mcu/extra mcu timeout errors and tmc driver shut downs on random z motors. I replaced the main board with a better board and have had zero issues since.
I had already added to 4010 fans to the main board a and two to the power supply. It ended up fixing the issue by disassembling the tool head, and reseating the cables. I think the issue came from strain on the data cables by the extruder.
@@Lost3DPrints It has been about 3 weeks since I have had the issue. Sovol did send me out the tool head boards and cables, but I have not needed them. There was a lot of tension on the cables right where they go into the tool head. Moving the cables so that there wasn't any strain there fixed the issue. I'm guessing it had something to do with being pressed up against the extruder and heat buildup on long prints.
I'll make a short on it when I get home in a few hours. I haven't had any problems drying PET-CF, ASA-GF or PAHT-CF. I think I ruined two rolls of Polymaker PA6 because I overheated them when I was trying to find the limit of the dryer.
Sovol did base the SV08 off of the voron 2.4. I believe they took a portion of their SV08 sales and donated back to the voron project. I thought that was pretty cool.
It is hardened Fysetc magnet, there were 3 on Amazon, currently they are marked unavailable. The shroud was a remix of Nadir's shroud on printables. The designer took it down for some reason. If I find another link I'll post it here. Wish I could be more helpful.
This is what I used, it is currently unavailable though. FYSETC Voron2.4 Upgrade 355mm PEI Build Plate Sticker Sheet Only: 14" High Temperature Resistant Hardened Surface 1.5mm Thinckness Heated Bed Cover wtih Back Adhesive Vorn 350mm Build 3D Printer Part a.co/d/67A1qS0

I really like the SV08, and have been happy with the enclosure so far. I've only had it for a few days. For me the price was right. I looked into having my own made from acrylic but the cost would have been about the same and I would be a lot more work.
Looks nice. I've ordered a few sv08s and they are arriving any day now, cant wait! What is that printhead shroud? Can you share the STL? I want to get rid of the shitty blue look
It is a remix of this tool head. It uses a 4010 fan, but I have not been able to find the exact model, and didn't save it to my computer. www.printables.com/model/916158-sovol-sv08-cn3d-shroud/remixes
I turned down the printing speed for the nylon filament, but accelerations and travel speeds are still at normal speeds. That is why the movements drastically change so much.
It is a really nice printer, it just takes a lot of patience. I wish that they were using mainline klipper and not a forked version. I think migrating over to mainline will be my next project with it.
I need help brother, I deleted all my configuration files on my svo6 with klipper it was stuck in a boot loop. The klipper wouldn’t respond so I deleted all the configuration now it won’t connect to anything? It’s the only option to emmc reader to mother for new firmware ?
I wish I could help you out. My sv06+ is running klipper off a BTT Pi. Does the Sovol klipper screen have an ethernet port? Or check your router to see if you still have a wifi connection. If you can connect to it, you can use an ftp client like filezilla to send new config files to the machine.
@@325RC if you are connected WiFi you should be able to connect to the board over WiFi and FTP transfer the files you need into the config file. It should be something like printer_data/configs. There is a sovol sv06/6+ group on Facebook. I have had really good luck getting help there with my sv06+
@@kzdom115 no I mean my svo6 plus is still connected but my svo6 isn’t it’s just stuck in boot up. I put the ip in the it’s just initializing and doesn’t move forward. That’s after I updated configurations. Now I’ve flashed it with everything but nothing changes.
Unfortunately, I walked away from a print that ended up failing and encasing the nozzle. When I cleaned everything up, the mount was deformed. I ended up printing a different model out of PET-CF. It is working great.
@@kzdom115 I didn’t have a good luck with his files. I ended up designing my own block that gets rid of the need for all the channels wire extensions and hassle. I’m working on a shroud design right now. I also printed my adapter out of PLA just to see what would happen and I’ve had no issues with it even running it upwards of 300 C for long periods of time
@@HagiRoku nice, I was able to use my stock heater and thermistor, so my wiring is nice and neat, but I did need to do some with a drill bit to get everything to mount up nicely.
The main reason I chose to do it was mainly because Sovol had not released hardened steel nozzles for the SV08 yet. I don't print too much PETG, so the nozzles falling out when printing PETG was not too much of a factor, but that was also part of my decision. I also am not a fan of only being able to get nozzles from Sovol. The Bambu clone nozzles are easily available through Amazon.
The bike had sat for several years with old fuel in the tank. The tank was full of rust, and it would cut out on highway speeds like it was out of fuel. I ended up replacing both the fuel pump and injectors after cleaning the tank.
I'm glad it was helpful! Unfortunately, I had to move on from the echo. It went through a few too many Kansas winters and the road salt ate through the frame. It was by far one of the most reliable and fun cars I have owned.
Lol please don't promise this will be the last? I just got my printer delivered today and I will 100% watch how the natural evolution of others helps or harms them! to learn as much as I can.. I appreciate you 🫶 I'm on this journey a few (or more) steps behind you 😝
I bought my first 3d printer about 3 weeks ago now. My HSW is my first big project with it. I'm 3 prints away from covering one wall with 35 panels. Then I will begin printing my attachments this weekend. It's such a great idea!
Nice, that was on my short list of printers when I was looking for one with a larger print bed. The only reason I went with the sv06+ was the Neptune 4 plus was out of stock.
It’s important to know that this is potentially explosive. You should take proper precautions as many videos make it seem fun. It can be but there are so many precautions you have to take.
i literally just bought a 1980 kz440B used on my backwoods dirt market, NO experience and NO training, and this channel is inspiring me to ride it and learn it and evolve as a human. thank you for your videos Dom!
Thanks man. My first bike was my 82 Kz750. I was in the same boat, no training, no experience, no clue what the hell I got myself into. That was the catalyst that lead me down the DIY mindset for sure. Good luck with the bike. I love those 440b frames!
