When I was brokering freight for my semi, I found most of the brokers in Chicagoland to be very sketchy. In the trucking world, they called it the Ukrainian Mob. (Whether or not they are actually Ukrainians, or the mob, I do not know😂). A great deal of the trucking companies and brokers out of that area are Eastern European. I used to run occasionally for Coyote. They were a brokerage owned by UPS out of Chicago. I thought I'd be safe with a big corporate entity like UPS behind them. Needless to say, I got burned more than once from them. (Just a word of advice, be wary if you broker any loads out of Schneider Logistics from Wisconsin). I had a few problems, such as you described and over TONU's, too. A good thing about Schneider is they tender you, your rate conformation immediately automatically, it is clean and everything is spelled out. They just don't negotiate. You take the rate offered or they give it to someone else who will. If you do manage to get them to adjust your 💰. They immediately send you updated Rate Cons. Keep on hustling Geezer, sorry you got burned on this one. A really good Factor is Thunder Funding out of San Diego area. Never had any issues with them. Very organized and professional. Usually funded 10 min after they got the rate con. Lastly, Thunder played Prisoner of the Highway by Ronnie Milsap on their phone tree.... What's not to like about that? 😂
it's so common, I worked uber eats in Manhattan on a bike and I met so many people on the rented accounts. I even saw people extremely high delivering food on bikes without insulation bags. That was for the few months they actually paid $30 an hour. Then they started doing the "reservations" stuff and it became impossible to make money that way so I quit (I'm young so I'm just doing whatever to make money)
@giggeezer That makes sense! I see your point on that! Question: Is there a way to calculate or a formula to determine what a prospective freight is worth so you can know how to bid on it? I'm not in the business yet, and it doesn't seem to be a topic that really no one is talking about?
@@Johnson13210 The best way I can answer your question it's having a feel for what you're doing, and that takes time. Eventually, you'll develop a sense for how much an opportunity should pay. (DO NOT GET CAUGHT UP IN RATE PER MILE because it can be misleading in many situations.)
Question Gig Geezer: I'm curious what made you decide to haul that load in your PU vs.Van? I don't have a van yet, wondering if good to start out with my Tundra to get my feet wet, then get a van?
@@Johnson13210 I've worked my way up when it comes to vehicles used to complete gig work opportunities. Work with what you have first but stay in your lane.
I agree with the man 100% I live in Jacksonville Florida. There are a lot of lot of them here doing DoorDash and Uber eats. I even seen one with more than one phone that McDonald’s one time did not even know how to speak a word of English. I just thank God. I have a work from home job as my permanent job and I do the gig app as a side hustle. Smh😮
Van owners that don’t know how to run a business or how to turn a profit throw out low bids and ruin it for the industry….. then they go out of business and the cycle continues, making it harder for other van owners to legitimize their efforts @giggeezer keep pushing, I’m impressed with your positive attitude and attention to detail
Here in Florida you can’t just have multiple phones anymore. I’m out here at the airport in the you trust me you get caught real quick. They keep security here for that reason because I remember that happening as an elite driver I don’t have to worry about that being gummed up for me.
I live in Florida also and I did see one person three months ago using two phones and McDonald’s. But now I do see them all going to the restaurants picking up orders and just flashing the phone, but they don’t say anything because they don’t know how to speak English.
I don’t mean to be political, but when Trump twins and I’ll hopefully he will win half of these people will get ported and I can get business back because I’m a gap driver and I’m losing business to a lot of these people
I think it’s frustrating with the people that speak Spanish them more likely with the bots that make all the money why I’m over here struggling because I see people at Uber in the driver. Sit at the airport all day make more money than me.
I also been seeing several food trucks pop up since the envasian of illegal immigrants.I also see them stick up every Saturday and Sunday.I sure hope the FDA looks into them there now all over the place undure weather there healthy food or rotton out dated food they serve
I myself am having a problem with spark app i cant get into my account to ,yes it ,the id page. I do, i follow what it says it says ,all done. Then takes me back to the id page .i told walmart about this, they just tell me they have escalated the matter, its now been 13 days still no fix .I have also noticed not getting any offers when my app was working and when i go past walmart .I see the parking lot full of cars.I am not to far away from them . I never got one offer from them
In Walmart i see the illegal imagrants waiting all around the parking area for the gig jobs rhe americans wont take the low paying gig because we r out hear to make money not lose money. The walmart /spark already has there money they realy dont care who deliveres the food as long as its delivered . They, the illegal imagrants sit outside the parking lot turn over shopping carts sit down on them play chess waiting for walmart to give them gig jobs
they use many fake accounts (this is FRAUD, federal crime) it is easy to know they always have 2 or 3 cell phones, they use BOOTS and STEAL from HONEST workers the best ORDERS, as the accounts are FAKE, THEY DO NOT PAY TAXES, In short, those who work correct and HONEST have been harmed for years, and those who do everything WRONG in America are SUFFERING.
I’m a platinum driver and it’s the worst money lowest quality orders and damn near slavery but they don’t give me consistent orders while they keep their immigrants working nonstop
@@issam9610 They steal yours and my personal information like social and drivers license numbers and create bogus accounts. If they pass through UberEats, DoorDash or Instacart background check then the accounts are sold (i.e., rented) to someone wishing to have an account.
I had re watch the video again. The black guy who's yelling Is he the one who has a RU-vid channel who talks about how he has many DoorDash accounts ? He talks about playing the system.
😅 workers complaining to Walmart about this?😮😅.... Walmart is all for this invasion... "Thats what you get for forcing mandatory minimums" "I'll learn ya"
Part of the problem are the immigrants but the companies greedy is the main generator of this situation Here in LA they are selling fake accounts for 200dlls per week I believe that only in downtown LA area exists at least 3000 people with fake accounts 3000x200= 600000dlls per week x4= 2.4 million dlls per month only in LA area now imagine all California and all the states You can't make cash out with such account you got to wait until Monday that is the pay day, they let you work a couple weeks with such accounts and by the third or fourth week they send you a message that they need verify your identity since you can't verify nothing they confiscate the money and shot down the account only to sell it to someone else I know some people here in la that have lost more than 1000dlls They keep the fake accounts drivers very busy because they are winning from the delivery's commission and from the account's commission And for the ones that have legitimate accounts they only offer you trash orders or not orders at all I know many documented and us citizens that have been forced to buy such accounts It is impossible that inside the company don't know about it, since this activity has several years already The dispatchers are working with complicity with the guys that offer such accounts on the street This is the most disgusting, advantage, abusive, greedy. Exploitative.......scam that ever existed
@@Vic_NuRom Apparently, you're all right with people paying for stolen IDs so they can have a shot at being onboarded onto an app. There's also stories of people getting 1099s from apps like UberEats, DoorDash, and Instacart for work they never did because someone else had used their social security number. They had to go through microhoops with the IRS to prove they were never in fact ever on those app platforms. So if that's being a gig policeman, I'm good with it.
I’ve been a spark driver in Ellijay, GA since July 2022.. I used to earn a living here but since the Venezuelans took over I’m forced to drive out of town to work.. they’re there too but there’s less of them in surrounding towns. It’s Rediculous and the associates at the Walmarts here don’t care enough to id them. So sad.. and I heard that because they don’t speak English, if there’s any issues at all finding the address they simply return the groceries and still get paid.
When this situation hit my market it lasted 2-3 months. I D checks at pick up were initiated. Reason being they kept delivering orders to neighbors or one street over. Really miss some of those customers.
@@RoseanneSeason7 then how do they work for all these delivery services with a social security number and how do they pass backg checks if there from Venezuela
@@user-rw718because GREED driven AMERICANS sell them accounts. They give them access to their accounts. Americans create multiple accounts and sell them.
You did great research. The greg harris thing is pretty heavy handed, but the shutting down was due it being an illegal dispensary. But it would be nice to look into Gregoria if he had a license, insurance, proper registration etc. But also when they cross the border illegally they are given amnesty and a social security thats temporary, and they can work. I can't confirm any of this, but even D.C. is packed full of guys on scooters and 2 years ago there was none of it. One thing i noticed about the Gregorio incident was he had 2 phones, one was recording the incident and one was showing the order.
