Pickup Trucks everywhere, big ones then there are even bigger ones and even versions of both all jacked up with monster tires and some with blue led blinding headlights that are eye level to those in cars. They are a plague based status symbol that I imaging cost 150 to fill up now.
where do you recommend where u can get some decent land and not too far from a larger town smaller city? we dont need access to downtown Edm, but we would like access to like costco, cdn tire, home depot, decent food, etc like maybe a 20-30min drive to the mentioned places
Im thinking of moving to Edmonton i own a condo in Toronto could probably sell for around $700000 i see nice condos for under $300000 buy one flat out and bank the rest Toronto is horrible now and with you saying the job market is great is a plus seriously considering it
You can get a great condo for less than half of what you got for your T.O. condo and pocket the rest ! And the job market continues to be strong in Edmonton !
Am a single guy not married no kids, lived and worked in toronto for 9 years don't like it much, wanna risk moving to edmonton to start over ,,any advice
Property taxes just went up by 10% and will go more higher in the next coming years, The city is going to implement the 15 minutes city where u live, work shop, eat within 15 minutes because woke liberal controlling the city. Crime rate is one of the highest in Canada. Unemployment rate is creeping up, lots of homeless people everywhere, everytime there has been oil price crash there has been a recession and house value just drop. Good luck finding a good high paying job here. Think very very well before moving here. I am myself selling and moving to somewhere better.
This was also posted a year ago and a lot of things have gotten worse since then you should probably make an update video.. housing is reasonable? have you been to downtown china town in edmonton? go look around and tell me that theres affordable housing. use your damn eyes
-15? with wind chill try -40 buddy your facts are a little off on the weather lmfao for someone who has lived in edmonton your whole life thought you would have known that.
I moved to Edmonton and regret it, everything is nore expensive here, gas, food, electronics, insurance, housing, number 1 city in crimes and murders. Guys if you are thinking of moving to edmonton from the east or west , just dont. Move to calgary or winnepeg instead.
ROADS AND DRIVERS :D:D Man have you ever been in eastern Europe? What about Bucharest...if you never been driving there you got definitely no idea what worst drivers really are :D
WOW your dumb ass has not lived in Calgary!. sorry I love Calgary more then EDMONTON> yes its a theater town. Yah you know shit.; But your are right about theater and ect
I heard from people living there that people are struggling to find work right now. Every city in Canada is like this but I thought Edmonton might have been spared.
Oh boy. I left Edmonton in 2019 because of the oil recession and I couldn't find regular work. As a tradesman, it's so much easier to find work in Paris in France. I can apply to 10 jobs and get two callbacks within 3 days. In Canada I couldn't even get hired at McDonald's
I've been talking to job seekers and been seeing a lot of posts lately about people struggling to find work in Edmonton. This is happening in all Canadian cities right now but I was expecting it to be better in Edmonton.
With things like ChatGpt AI development advancing continuously, it's going to be hard for people to find work if they're not adept with that tool. Times are so different now. I remember back in High School when you could walk into the Mall or a grocery store and drop off your resume in person or fill out an application online. But for years now, many have shifted gears to online accessibility of telling people to apply online. Or nowadays it's people you know or heavy reliance on experience, etc.
You should also mention that: 1- Alberta has the highest electricity charges and car insurance premiums in Canada 2- Water is very scarce in major cities 3- there are municipal franchise fees on all utility bills 4- municipalities charge for waste water 5- Alberta has the highest property taxes in the country
This really is irrelevant when you don't have to pay 1.5 million dollars for a 1000 sq ft house like you do in vancouver. Or toronto etc. I live in Edmonton and pay about 3500 a year for my house tax on a 1200 sq foot bungalow with a big front and back yard on a beautiful quiet street. I work 1 job. Can afford my house. Insurance. Food. And have money left over for vacations. Motorcycles. Etc. In fact my house will be paid off in 2 more years or so.
Yes, ask questions from people Who line in edmonton or calgary first. Utilities and property taxes might have been a small part of your budget on a vancouver condo, but for an old 1000 sq ft house in edmonton that can be over $1000/month.
@@ezzghanem I agree, stay away from Alberta biggest mistake I made when I moved here. But if you absolutely have to, Calgary or Lethbridge are good places. Edmonton is alwaysn#1 in crime rates.
Better crime rate than nearly any American city...? Roads suck, but the commute is like 30 minutes to work almost no matter where you live and work, compared to 2-5 hours in Toronto... just to GET to work! Drivers suck, but they are more polite than most other places at least.
Yup going to be moving there in the next 1.5 2ish years I can't afford to live in bc anymore. I am getting a big chunk of money from my trailer and going to use it for a down payment on a place. So I can raise my family
Edmonton is bad for traffic? are you blind or a hermit? its the easiest city on planet earth the drive around. I've been a lot of places around the world and trust me, Edmontons north south east west grid and numbers is the best I've seen in any city. its the ONLY city I've been to where a stranger can navigate it. you've never lived in Seattle, Montreal or Vancouver.
Hey brother I am from california i am thinking to move to edmonton i have my cosine there Me and my wife and new born baby What is the good income should i start to support my family and to pay all bills
