Think of it like what Caitlin Clark is doing for the wnba. White people weren't buying tickets, weren't buying merchandise, and weren't teaching there kids the game then Larry Bird showed up.

Larry Bird loved the game. He played injured because of his dad. He watched his dad need help taking his boots off and putting them back onto a broken ankle, to go to work. he told Larry it was because he was getting paid to work, not sit home with an injury and Larry Bird brought that mindset with him. Good reaction. Thanks for sharing.
This song was a panty-dropper. Someone once quipped that Bobby was the father of 10 percent of the word's population. He was sick and feverish that night and was nervous because his mom had never heard him sing live, and she was in the front row.
Honestly wgaf about a goat. ??? Only mf who didn't do anything in their sport life. I did and I do. So why? Eras have their own. Guy. Some stretch thru eras. Like bird
When he was injured, the doctor told him that he couldn't play until the next season. Even so, with 18 games left, he decided to play to take the Bulls to the playoffs.
I first heard him about 18 months ago just exploring uTube and fell in love with his voice right then and there! I purchased his CD “ I tried everything but therapy “ and it is all fantastic sounding! Sing on Mr. Swims! Love❤
I love Teddy Swims he has a perfect voice and any song he sings it sounds like his own.he can come across as gentle or rough great talent. I’ve been hooked for a while on him.
Jordan is the GOAT of basketball and probably the greatest team sport player of any sport in history. The entire debate about MJ and LeBron is a farce. I understand that there is a natural tendency for people to believe that anything modern is better than it was in the past. It’s also human nature to want to see greatness… and that desire is especially strong in sports and entertainment. In a different context, let’s say most of the world agrees that Tiger Woods is not only the greatest golfer who ever lived, but that he is so superior that there is little to no chance anyone will ever be as good as he was. Well, that kinda sucks for everyone who wasn’t born or a golf fan at the time he played, and takes a little excitement away from watching golf now if you know what you are seeing is second rate. Furthermore, we now live in an age where TV, streaming and social media platforms have all realized that controversy drives ratings/clicks and part of the business is “selling” the sports they are talking about. The more you hype the game, the more people watch and therefore the more people will tune in to hear you talk about it. And people want to say they’ve seen greatness. The GOAT debate has been manufactured by media (most of whom know better) to stir controversy and keep newer generations of fans engaged psychologically, which helps their ratings. The truth is there’s never been anyone who can compare to Michael. Larry Bird was ridiculously skilled and was a maniacal competitor, but even his skill and drive were not quite on Jordan’s level. Kobe is the closest thing to Jordan’s skills and mentality, but Kobe himself said MJ was better than him many times. LeBron, Magic, Kareem, Wilt, on and on… all-time great players, every one of them will tell you MJ was the best. Why? Nobody has ever possessed such a combination of: 1. Incredible skill at every single aspect of the game. He was the best player at both ends of the floor for 13 years 2. Breathtaking athleticism that was so far beyond anyone else’s that he made the entire NBA including the hall of fame players he played against look like little boys against him. He literally toyed with the league. And yet, he worked so hard and had absolutely perfect fundamentals. 3. Court Awareness- Despite all his skills and athleticism, he mastered the game and understood how to use his abilities to manipulate the game. He could do whatever he wanted on the floor and nobody could stop him 4. Competitive Fire - I don’t know if we’ll ever see another player with Jordan’s physical abilities, skills, knowledge and work ethic. But if we do, will that person have all of that AND MJ’s competitive streak?? Highly unlikely. Michael was practically a psychopath when it came to winning; he wouldn’t accept anything less. There wasn’t enough around him early in his career, but even the Pistons couldn’t beat him up enough to make him back down. Once he got through that, he never started another season with the Bulls that didn’t end in a parade. He played 80+ games every season because he felt responsible to show up for the game, the team and the fans every night. His mental toughness and ability to motivate himself to play at his peak level game after game and take it to another level when it mattered most is simply astounding. He also did it in an era when A LOT more physical contact was allowed. He took the beatings, never missed a game and never stopped coming back at the opponent. I think the worst period of NBA basketball was the early 2000s. The league had allowed more and more contact within the game… mostly because the entire NBA couldn’t keep up with MJ. But when he retired, the amount of contact was far too excessive for normal players and the game turned into a brutal, low scoring slog with no flow. The league had to implement new rules to open up the game and give players a chance on offense… yet MJ averaged 31 ppg in that defensive environment.
You can't really highlight shooting skills, unless you're Curry, with his infinite range. But dunks are much more exciting. And y'all new school cats need to expand your historical knowledge on bball more. Seems like some of y'all, are only stuck on players from the 90's and beyond. Shawn Kemp, though a bit taller than Vince. He was more devastating and stylish, than majority of dunkers that came after him. Jordan on the other hand, was more finesse. Wilkins was just like Kemp. He had power behind his dunks. Dr. J was cool too. He was Jordan, before Jordan came around. After the 80s, I really like J Rich too. He's very underrated.
I’ve watched basketball closely since the late 80’s. Jordan is the best I’ve seen and no one is close in my opinion. His fundamentals were a big reason he dominated then and would dominate now. And, he had no weakness.
I can testify as a witness Jordan really did that. You can probably make 10 more mixtapes. If he hadn't retired between the 3 peats I truly believe Michael Jordan and the Bulls would have won 8 straight Championships. God created the perfect specimen of a basketball player.
