Thanks for the instructional! Bug alert: when the ChatGPT warning is triggered for "This content may violate our usage policies. Did we get it wrong? Please tell us by giving this response a thumbs down." the script will fail. I'm working on a workaround. I'm using text data from Reddit with no known policy violations, and some posts are triggering it for unknown reasons.

Hi! Thanks for this video- super helpful :) I wanted to ask: I replicated your code and entered my own API keys, but when I tried to chat with GPT, the response I got was character(0). Any idea why this might be occuring?

Thank you very much for putting this together and putting it online! I have been considering joining a mega study as a collector with my professor, and I have been very curious in general about what the behind the scenes looks like for these sorts of projects. Seeing how everything works and the different strategies to shield against combinatorial explosion of work very much unmasks the process and helps me to understand much better. Thanks again!

How much, if any, of the Twitter API information is still relevant. I realize this may be a difficult question. Thanks.

Brilliant presentation, which makes me want to know more. Thanks for all your research, analysis, and tree climbing. I'm extremely eager to read Our Tribal Future. As an uncredentialed 71 year independent student of neuroscience, evolution, anthropology, primatology, linguistics, and as much philosophy as I can stand, I've been searching for the way to "Channel Our Foundational Human Instincts into a Force for Good" for years, esp since around 2008-10 the time where IMO the danger of a post-truth world bringing out the worst in tribalism got well underway. My curiosity lead me to this item, which made me wonder if you've paid any attention to the 2015 article "Avatars in the Machine: Dreaming as Social Simulation". I discovered the article because I had the concept already, and wondered if anyone had brought it out into the world - in the same way as I thought social epistemology ought to be a thing, and so went searching for it. The Social Identity and Morality Lab also seems to me like "thank God such a thing exists", and makes me want to learn more. It is quite a pivot you (D.R.S.) are doing, and I look forward to seeing where it leads.

Thanks for the great video. However, after establishing a connection with the Standard twitter API, I encountered an error when I tried to get data from my own timeline. Warning: 215 - Bad Authentication data. Warning message: rate limit exceeded. mins until rate limit resets. How can I fix this? Thanks in advance.

Two questions: (1) how do I get the code you are using? and (2) the function skim() is great for producing a html file of the results, but it absolutely useless if you want to producing a pdf output of the same results.

Thanks for the video Steve. I could not, however, figure out hot to get a callback URL. I am a PhD student and do not have a website. Please, not that I was able to create a Twitter developer account and fill in under "create_token" with some of the information, e.g., app, consumer_key, and consumer secret.

Are there any big advantages Zotero has over Mendeley?
@SocialIdentityandMoralityLab
@SocialIdentityandMoralityLab 3 года назад
Hi Carlos. For our purposes, Zotero's big advantage is that it allows you to share your citations through shared folders with other lab members. You can give individuals or groups permissions to add and edit the citations in the shared folder. Mendeley only allows you to share citations and documents with a group of up to 2 other users

Interesting paper. I wonder if the choice of research topics authors make is a better reflection of political/ideological biases? Another interesting area of inquiry may be in an analysis of political language in papers, especially surrounding concept formations and causal analysis, that may exist alongside replicable data. A great gripe among conservatives for example in certain areas of research is the oppressor/oppressed framework that is often used. Merely looking at replicability and other quality indicators may neglect to consider the real world effect and influence of studies, which, if I'm not mistaken, was only considered with prestige of authors and universities, not of political langauge.
