Bruh it gets my blood my blood boiling the mother said “my daughters not defective” yea exactly she isn’t you are! in fact it’s technically not even a disability we literally just have brains wired differently from others originating from our ancestors who have hunter brains I really wish instead of denying the facts parents would do research on it and help there children rather than cause more pain by saying we are lazy simply because they can’t understand it how can you understand if u don’t try to and research

Thnx so much for showing this. You don't know how much it means to me seeing someone go through the same situation. I was so fed up with the American movies with all supportive parents and boyfriends and all that. This is so real. Parents in most cases especially in asian countries choose to blindfold themselves. You can't imagine the pain I went through when dad said i became a stain and a defective model on the family cuz of my disease. I believed he'd be by my side and be my backbone. But it was so disappointing 😢.

I honestly really hate it when someone says ADHD isn't real. It makes me full of disappointment and anger it makes me want to punch the person who says it. This video is so relatable in so many ways it's impossible to say that it doesn't in any other way.

I'm looking into getting an ADHD diagnosis. My Mom has always been supportive of me, though I relate to this in some ways when it comes to meds. She believes that meds are bad and will only make me feel worse and that I should try accupuncture or some other form of natural medicine before I even consider the idea of meds in the future. The Mom in this for the most part represents my internal thoughts. That feeling when everyone else understands what we're doing in class and I spaced out remembering a mistake I made in the past or a memory or a song and when I come back to reality I have to try and figure out what I missed by looking at the information on the whiteboard even though sometimes it looks like a jumbled mess of numbers or words that mean nothing. That feeling when you ask your friends for help because your too afraid to look stupid in front of the teacher but one of them doesn't understand why you don't understand. I mean it's easy right? All you have to do is this, so why doesn't that make sense to you. That feeling when your teacher gives you feedback on an assessment and you forget it the next minute and have to lie about what you've been doing for the past few days when they literally gave you the feedback you needed. It's been weeks since the assessment was due and your still not done? They've given you everything you need to finish but you can't focus and you don't what you're supposed to do unless it's written on paper for you to read over and over and over again. That feeling when you tell your friends you think you might have ADHD and they tell you that procrastinating does it mean you have it. The sadness when you realize they've never none your struggles because you've spent your whole life trying to act like some perfect person and how could you be struggling when you still get good grades? The sickening feeling when you realize that you've hidden so much of yourself that now no one will believe you when you open up and say you need help.

This hits hard because I want medication but my mother is too worried that I’ll get “addicted” to it. She knows that I have problems, but she doesn’t want to believe that I could be “disabled” because she doesn’t think “disabled” extends outside physical disabilities and autism.

Perfect ending lmao. A few weeks ago we made a trip with our company and stayed one night at this cool beach hotel. When I arrived at work so we could all drive to the hotel together, I realized I had forgotten to take any change clothes with me. When we arrived at the hotel I didn't find my bathroom stuff in my backpack and I realized I had packed it at home but just didn't take it with me, just like Dany forgets the meds. Incredible.

oh my g... I've got same experience with my mom she didn't even believed the psychiatrist because I've always been an honor student and above average but what she didn't know was how hard it was for me, going to school, spacing out thinking other things, easily distracted, impulses, when doing projects or homework that uses thinking a lot keeps my mind running nonstop that I sleep 3-1 hours everyday. Being BA psychology student with ADHD is woah as there's so many novel concepts to explore but also the mundane nature of college makes it "meh." I've always been a good student learning things on my own until I got diagnosed with Adult ADHD that it made sense why I learn better when reading things again and again compared to listening to classes though I still need to go to classes to have faster idea about a topic because first hand encounter would branch things out--the etymology, where it was used, the age when it was related, how does it apply around me, then the ups and downs and they have their own branching stuff making me not know what the person's talking about or repeating a paragraph again and again for couple of minutes as well as have a broader synthesized idea about it but when it comes to directions like in math, oh hell. The sad thing about ADHD is that it's actually inherited and if it's only you for now that got the diagnosis, it's hell within the fam specially because of the Disorder in ADHD that it's not really a disorder it's just a difference and sadly as we were educated in Guidance and Counseling subject in Psychology that a condition can be a problem if it causes you to not function as the typical population within the realms of self care, social life and work life that ADHD isn't really a disorder it's just that we work differently than the boring-modern-corporate-world-sitting-all-day.

Woah, this is one of the best visualizations of ADHD ever! Really good work. The stereotypical Asian (Vietnamese) mom's lack of understanding, the reading mind clutter scene, the lawn conversation and phasing out, the beautiful mom-daughter conversation, the deadline trouble, the forgetfulness... Perfect.
