Kinda curious to to hear from you how they are these days. I was in high school my junior year at this time and I remember DCI was huge if you were a music student.
This line IS astounding. Best sounding PR line I ever heard was 1993. Most powerful was 1996. Both were G bugle lines. I would love to hear this arrangement played with G bugles, but there are probably more attainable fantasies.
still rennicks best work. this is the kendrick equivalent of a book. all the tasty adeptness of a true craftsman but with all of the pop value that anyone can appreciate, even a layperson. wild.
Couldn't have said it better, there's layers to it, people can appreciate it for different reasons. Like the extended buzz rolls, or the mint snare metric decel with all those shots. The quad break is insane. The sheer execution of the book as well, lemme tell you, I've heard shots from open class wgi UP2 that hurt my ears, 1:29 would be so loud. In other words, through overanalyzing, this is a great book and I think there's something to be said about enjoying the small details in DCI
Such a wholesome sound! That DM had to be just basking in that spot. The icing on the cake was that ECHO!!! Then the director just steps back like nothing happened, lol.
