Hello and Welcome to SLIMY GREEN GARAGE...Not so long ago there was a young man named John who's CB handle happened to be Slimy Green. Also known as Johnboy my DAD and taught me a large portion of what I know today. He could fix just about anything, and he Loved helping people. He taught his 2 boys to do the same. I started this page so that I could share his gifts with you and that you might catch a Glimpse of my Dad through me. He made his journey home to the Lord in 2014, but before He went we shared in many adventures finding Rusty Treasures. We found the Greatest Treasures were the people we met while on the hunt and the relationships we formed. If you are reading this I want to welcome you to the Slimy Green Garage Family! We all have a story to tell, and we were all Blessed with certain gifts, talents, and abilities. Here at the Garage we try to use those Gifts to Honor God

I know!!!...lol unfortunately we bought a new property out of state and we have been working hard at preparing the new shop space......sadly some of the projects had to go to make room for future dreams.....
Because I have a bed liner in the back I have never even worried about it however I've done this several times and getting some one inch strapping from the hardware store it's easy to self tap the cut out panel back in place. I have also just cut 3 sides before and bent it up so that it was a little more structural when putting back together.
Hey man you have already lived it I’m doing exactly everything you are doing I rebuilt the motor and the hydrostatic pumps and sand blasting every line …… does yours work properly after all this work? I’m so over this project… I’d love to chat if your available
I will share everything I can with you, I actually don't have the bobcat anymore I'm currently in a takeuchi tl12v2 which of course needs work...lol. if you private message me I will give you my number and we can chat about all the Fun we have had!!
@@SlimyGreenGarage I don’t know how to do that but I’ve been working on it for about 2 months on the weekends but everything your saying is happen to me
I had a 78 Z28 in the ‘90s. I drove it hard for years, never did any maintenance or repairs. It was truly a die hard beast, I should have taken better care of it.
Your not alone in your thinking...lol I think its a testimony of how well they used to build things, and let's not forget the styling they used to put in the design of the classics!!
Custom Interior included that seat pattern. It was the same interior that came standard in the Type LT. My mom had a new 1978 Camaro Type LT In 1978 which was a lt. Blue color with the the light blue custom interior and it was a good looking interior but was quite light color so it was the no food or drink in Mom’s car even though I was the one cleaning it. The doors would have matched the center of the seats. I noticed the custom interior option on the sticker you have. Just thought would like to know the that if you decide to go the original route on the interior it would be a good looking interior. Maybe a cleaning nightmare, but quite attractive.
I appreciate your sharing of this information!! I did take a closer look at the build sheet this morning and found the codes for the interior..YR2 DLX FRONT SEAT, YS2 DLX REAR SEAT AND YT1 CUSTOM DOOR PANELS....Unlike in School the homework is half the fun!!
She's not perfect by any stretch of the imagination but it still exists....:) Not to mention they just don't build cars like they used too! Old School all the way.....
@@SlimyGreenGarage Gosh Yes! If I had the money and the space I would own a few 78-81 Camaros and would keep myself busy making different project cars out of them (as well as having a few original ones too). If I was filthy rich I would hire that company that builds carbon fiber bodies and have them create one for me. Haha!! 😆
Oh my god! I had almost the exact same 78 Z28. Same blue with white interior, no t-tops, but, I had the same grant GT steering wheel, that, wait for it……….rattled and shook the same way! The car had issues, but was indestructable. Brings back good memories. Thanks for sharing.
I remember when picking up a new Grant steering wheel was a huge upgrade...lol. I personally like the white interior you had better than the blue! We have already fixed the rattling steering wheel too, and plan on rebuilding the carb this week. Thinking about upgrading the exhaust some too:) Have a Great week, and God Bless!
Look man, no hate. don't get me wrong. but PLEASE quit acting like you're derek from VGG. Do your own thing, be unique. that's the better route to go, I'm sure you don't wanna be known for acting like someone else.
I appreciate the input both bad and good and hope your doing well.....It's almost impossible not to pick up some things from the people that influence us, but your right about being unique as we all are....I will continue to grow and have a great time making content....GodSpeed!
I think that is Awesome.....save every dollar that you can and wait for the right project to come along!! I started delivering papers when I was 10 years old back when people still read them on a regular basis :) Dream Big Dreams and Chase them with everything you've got!!! God Bless You!!
Absolutely will, it's been a crazy mess since selling the shop in town, moving tools and waiting for the new shop to be built...But it will all be worth it....Stay Awesome and I will be back at it soon!
I started following you with the burned up bobcat 873, I also purchased an 873 burned and put it back together, but its got alot of leaks im trying to trace. I dont what you paid, but ill say its better to buy somthing that needs repair that way tou can fix almost anything on it in the futute. Also so many people sell these with problems that you find out later so unless you have 75k to drop on a new machine, this is the way to go. God bless brother.
Whoa, Finally another Slimy Green video! And it was a great one...despite the process not going as planned. It sure is a beautiful piece of land you guys picked out!🤘😎
I had one when I was 15 and ran the hell outta that beauty. I’m 36 and wish I had it back. I was around 270 pounds, my buddy was 300. He was on the back and somehow, some way, it still drove! Oh I’d love to have mine back, put some huge tote boxes on the back to hold groceries and do deliveries on my days off. Lol. Vroom vroom
Underneath the tank toward the front are two screws, remove them along with the metal strip between, then move the front plastic light housing piece out forward. There will be two wires with wires nuts, disconnect them, remove the front plastic light housing. The tank is split right down the middle into two pieces. Spread the two halves of the tank , beginning at the front, and open them enough to clear the frame rails, then remove the tank out from the side.
I just got one of these bikes for free. I just took the tank off and it had 2 Everlast D batteries in it. I have to get new bulbs and figure out a new power supply because unfortunately the batteries that leaked and rusted the the supply set up where you put the batteries. I work for a cemetery and funeral home and someone dropped it off in the driveway
@@SlimyGreenGarage Thank you I really appreciate it. Do you know how to tell if it's a boys or girls bike? And how to tell what model and year they might be? Any information would be appreciated thank you for your time.
Thanks for the video, I've got a S250 that needs love on the fan drive and housing. Several bolts are missing and everything is just hanging loosely. Your video helped me see what is really going on and confirmed my suspicion that two of the bolts are inside the housing. Good to know it can come out through the front as I didn't want to take the engine out.
I hope you still own the bike. If you do, could you please get me close shots of the decals on the tank, chainguard and rack? I am restoring my dad's bike, and since both our Hiawatha bikes are the same, I need original examples of the graphics. Thanks, Paul
@@SlimyGreenGarage Hey, could you send give me some pics of the graphics on top of the rear rack please? I am restoring my dad's old bike that is just about ready for paint. It is just like yours. Thanks.
Would love to know what software you got to reset. I have the TL10V2 and have the same problem,. It has not been deleted but is in a complete limp mode. Would much prefer to fix myself for obvious reasons. I really need to get this thing going. Would love to get some pointers on the reset and hardware you used to reset your machine.
your truck is slightly different than mine is and i have a KB1, the most notable differences that i see so far are the key locks on the doors which my truck doesn't have, the IH on the dash my truck doesn't have, and your truck has a dome light. as far as the engine goes, mine has the original green diamond 214 flathead six. so in terms, your truck is a "newer" model than what my pickup is.
Looks good lol we need to get our family’s together some time also I finally got the caprice moved under her own power also got to drive her for the first time ever I just need a fuel sending unit witch I’m getting next week and probably a new starter because mines starting to act up lol
Thanx for the tips! So let me be clear on this: To remove the fuel tank you have to first remove the engine. Talk about design and engineering! Anyway, how long did it take you to remove the engine? Any tips on how to clean all the debris out of the fuel tank that keeps clogging the pickup strainer?
It probably took me a couple days to get the engine out not working overly hard. My best tips would be to be patient...lol make good use of a little heat for stuck coupler connections and as far as keeping the tank clean I would say that it goes back to good maintenance, keeping the machine clean and using a screened funnel when fueling it up...thanks for the question and God Bless.....You Can Do It!!
