And the pool and hot tub are awesome. Nice that the pool is open early and up to 11pm. This is one of our go to hotels when we go out to Lancaster. The view is amazing in the morning
Ham and string beans (I always add apple cider vinegar), as well as French fries with vinegar and ketchup. Also, I make sure to always add rivels to my chicken corn soup. Thanks for this video. I’m a native. 😊
@@karioct23 thank you for this - so cool to read 😊 One of our regular meals growing up in York County was ham, green beans, and potatoes in the crock pot 👍😊 And I LOVE vinegar on my FF! That is definitely a geographical thing 😅 However I do not know what rivels are??
We saw this right after the fire,so sad because it was devastating. Now oh my gosh it's beautiful.We will be there in a few weeks and we can't wait to try it out..perfect timing on your video.Thank you for sharing it...

Great video!!! We just visited this past Tuesday and really enjoyed everything! They did a wonderful job with the new layout. It is so beautiful and spacious. Love the full wall of windows and of course the food was excellent!!!
What kind of name is Amish View? They are treating the Amish like freaks in a side show. These people just want to be left alone, not treated as a tourist attraction so other people can exploit them and make money off them.
They could rent out the restaurant and use it for weddings or holiday parties if they wanted to and. Just for heads up I found out there not doing the Whoopi Pie festival in September
@@keithatkins9783 I know! I asked them about that earlier this summer. It is a bummer but maybe next year :). And you are right ! They cld rent it out but I think it would be better to add on so d buffet goers don’t miss out 😂
Such a beautiful property!! Its always been one of my favorite spots to visit. The food is always great. I was so sad when the fire occurred but they did an amazing job rebuilding. I'm really looking forward to my visit this fall. All of the food you showed looked amazing!!! Your parents are so sweet! Loved the this video!! Looking forward to your next video!

I think they earned the name resort. You are right it is gorgeous. Looking forward to trying the ham balls, hopefully this fall. Enjoyed the walk thru, it reminded me of Magnolia in Waco, TX. God Bless and safe travels.

I was able to give the first like! I've been waiting for this review! I love how much natural light the new space has. It is beautiful! I love the windows, the lights, the tables, the plants, the views, the set up....basically everything. I know you are in your element as you visit Hershey Farm. You can't go wrong with good fried chicken and hot mashed potatoes. Just checking, do you know if the ham ball has onions in it? You got me wanting to try the ham balls there. The desserts looked good. I love chocolate eclair cake/pudding. Did you see any pretzels on the buffet? Similar quality to Miller's? Wow! Looking forward to trying it. Great, great, great video!

The only ones I didn't know were #5 & #7. Hey, have you heard of the Sammy & Brian mysteries? A local author wrote a mystery series for kids (kind of like the Hardy Boys-maybe a little younger) that all takes place in Lancaster County!
I am from Allentown, PA. I went to a diner with a salad bar. Of course I was going to get cottage cheese with apple butter. However, when I went to get the cottage cheese, it looked too runny. I asked the waitress if that cottage cheese was ok. She said she would test it herself. she scooped an unnecessarily large scoop of the "cottage cheese" then she said, in her PA Dutch accent "I can't eat cottage cheese without apple butter" She added the apple butter and put it in her mouth. Her reaction was the best. She painfully swallowed and announced that the cottage cheese was, in fact, chucky blue cheese salad dressing!

My Late Great Grandmother who passed away nearly a decade ago she and my late great aunt lived over in that area in Lititz And My Stepgrandmother who lives in Florida her late aunt worked in the kitchen for like 30 years
@@ElleLiving well she was the one who broke the news that they were closing the factory but the candy store remains and My Dad worked on the hotel where the factory used to be I’ve rarely been in the candy store a few times

@@joshpavlik3343 I was just curious 😊 Sunnyside also has their own bakery store, just FYI :) Roots isn’t for everyone especially if you don’t like crowds. 😆
My family came from the Bangor area, so we are Eastern PA. My maternal grandfather was a family farm PA Dutchman. They had a cow for a pet, and made their own Sauerkraut and Apple Cider Vinegar and of course, Chow Chow. To anyone who cringes at the thought of Pork Chops and Sauerkraut. It is the easiest and most delicious meal to make and I guarantee you will never eat a moister pork chop than after it's been marinating in Sauerkraut for a few hours. We had church dinners where they would do this in large batches. Season your pork chops with salt. Put them in a slow cooker and cover them liberally with sauerkraut. Let it slow cook for a few hours. That's it. We always used to eat them with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. It really doesn't get better than that.
I am from Easton, PA and grew up eating Sauerkraut. Then I married a Chinese man, from the North Eastern part of China, where their own delacacy which they claim only exists in that region of China, is pork ribs and sauerkraut. I am guessing this is because of the similar climates. Either way, he and I can get along!
@@tommyb1396 so it went very smoothly. There was a bus that arrived when we did. I was the first to inquire about the wait and such but I got there at like 11:10AM. They don’t start lunch till 11:30 but this day they didn’t start seating till 11:40. I asked for a booth and I would recommend getting there early if you want a booth bc there are only a handful of them. There really wasn’t a line to get food anywhere but the grill where u get custom made stuff. The crowd - maybe like 15 people besides us plus the big bus. But plenty of room in dining area 👍☺️
Love the video, but you said Pennsylvania Dutch refers to three things, people, food, region, it actually refers to a fourth, the language, keep up the great videos
@@pgirl9406 no and when I was there that wasn’t an option. I think that hasn’t been a thing for years. They have family style too but you need to have at least 15 people and need to make reservations ahead of time. I’ll get into all that in the review video :)

@@ElleLiving We are coming down next week 13th and then we will be back again hopefully in the fall. Hopefully it won’t rain too hard and you can still visit for a little while. We used to stop in for an hour or two when my grandmother lived in Charlottesville,VA. Congratulations again to your son and hope the wedding went well.
