"Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct your paths." Proverbs 3:4-5
Hey there! My name is Nikole and I run this channel, creating videos for both educational as well as enlightenment purposes. I enjoy spending time in nature and discovering myself and the world I live in by getting to know God through His creation. I have always loved to be outdoors and learning new things in a hands on way and leading others to do the same.
On April 20th 2021 my family and I were in a serious car accident, being T-boned by loaded cattle transport truck through an intersection on our way shopping. We all survived the crash by God's grace but I now suffer from some short term memory loss, which these videos help me in my healing process. I hope you enjoy them!

RU-vid dubbed this video of mine! Where the song says "across the USA" my family recorded "to Ottawa today!" and every one has been dubbed out! 😮 Wow, those woke snowflake crybaby RU-vid censorship police! Posting about drag queens is a-ok but not going to a Canadian City... just wow.
Great demonstration of the technique. I am more partial to the european scythe style sickles that cut inward, but the kama style sickles like you are using are dead simple tools that are easy to maintain and repair. They are really great in super tight spaces where my other sickle doesnt fare as well. I like to rest the back of the sickle blade on the ground as i work to keep the cut low and away from my grasping hand. Basically treating like scything backwards. Got myself once in the thumb because there was a bit of aluminum in some thick grass. The blade caught on and rode upward into my grasping hand. Gloves probably woulda stopped that. Good call on those.
Ouch! Yeah, gloves and good footwear are a must. I have worn sandals and no gloves but its really not the safest. My husband was doing it in sandals and then went to put shoes on and ended up slicing the tip of his shoe at some point and was very thankful he changed when he did. I would like to eventually try a few different kinds of sickles and demonstrate them and if my mind changes about what I like. Thanks for stopping by and stay safe!
I bought one last year and it is an amazing tiller. It is a dirt chewning machine and has made my garden prep so much easier and faster. I highly recommend this tiller.
Hi :). I like your channel name & what I read in the "about" :). My name is Angela & I'm redeemed in Christ & live in ( & am from) west-central/nw Wisconsin. I also love gardening & nature, seeing the genius, majesty & power of our great God in His Creation. I also practice & still learning ( of course): no-till, regenerative & permaculture approaches to gardening/land management. God bless u too !
Thank you very much for that comment, I appreciate you taking the time to write that and praise God for all He is and does for us! I love being outside and getting my hands dirty and talking to God out in my yard lol 😄. Thanks again Angela for stopping by ❤.
👍 I just GAVE AWAY my propelled DR trimmer, string trimmer and brush cutter… and replaced them with an ancient mowing tool-the scythe❕ Although I’m still learning to master the technique, I greatly appreciate that my Austrian scythe requires no gas, oil, OR annoying maintenance/repair. Just a bit of sharpening & peening now and then is all that’s needed. I use it to cut grass hay on my pasture, as well as keep the front yard groomed up. I JUST LOVE IT. However, I think a sickle may just be the perfect tool for my vegetable garden and front yard. Very helpful video 👍 Can you recommend a good brand and/or vendor? Thank you.
As for band, no, I just use a korean one I bought in amazon. However, I do prefer the straighter blade overbthe curved half-circle sickle for gutting the grass around plants. If I were sickling a lot of something, like a small field of something, then maybe the half-circle sickle would do better. I really dont know. I personally prefer the small curve of the more straigh bladed sickle for what I do. Thanks for taking a minute to comment!
Great little machine once you get it started. Would be a better machine if there was a "neutral" setting isolating the engine from impeller for start up. Very difficult to pull start a new engine. I had to remove the snap on air filter cover and foam filter, and sprayed just a shot of carb cleaner into carburetor to give the spark plug enough fuel to fire the engine. Then I replaced the foam filter and cover. Ran like a charm afterward.
A cherry tree needs at least 3x3 meters ground surface ; so don't feel embarrassed to pull them out as soon as you see these suckers coming out of the soil from the mother tree surface tracing roots. Otherwise your lawn will be invaded. I have the same problem over here, and when I selected a couple of young of these plants, I buried them inside a 40 cm height bottom less plastic bucket to avoid propagating the same issue. Cheers.
These cherries did cover a very large area of the yard and we hated it, so over the years we've cut and mowed over the areas of the yard we want back and don't let them pop up anywhere but where we're ok with them. Their root sytem is quite extensive, but the property here wasnt taken care of for maybe 20 years or so till we moved in and after 10 years of us working at it we're still finding new things (or very old things).
The start of my other video on sickling does. I sharpen as I go and feel it needs it. If I don't feel it needs to be supper, ultra sharp then I just keep going till I feel the blade "bite" instead of "slice". It's not a fancy sword lol, just a grass cutter. Plus, this video was to show the technique of curving or arching your slice, not about the blade itself, so oh well 🤷♀️.
I lived at my property for 10 years now and I just discovered a very large wild patch of currents in my woods yesterday! Haha. Didn't even know they grew wild but I guess I'm not the only one that finds them.😊
Welcome to the internet. My channel is empty, for the moment, but when it was fully, people stole everything. Big channels would take my broadcasts, edit out my name and watermark, but still use my video (with my face) and not even have the courtesy to link to my website. I am sorry this is happening to you, and I wish I could tell you that it won't happen again. I hope you are able to get some justice: I have been able to get videos taken down, apologies, and agreements from pages to link to my website. But it doesn't always work. Btw, Champion wood chipper still working out great, thanks to you folks.
It's not so much I didnt think it could happen as much as I didnt think I made good enough videos to want to take from lol 😅. Permission is always nice to ask for but of course there will always be those who just take. I thought it was funny the guy labelled his review as "honest" 😂. That's really too bad so much of your work was taken without even credit. Credit and permission if necessary is something I really do try to remember about images and video stock i might use. Awesome about the chipper! It's still one of my fave tools 😁👍.
Hi. Just wanted you to know let you know someone stole a part of your video and posted it on Amazon as theirs. If you look up the earthquake victory tiller you can find it. I’ll try to post a link to the video below. If you click report on the video and file a copyright infringement they will take it down
I use my DR Power chipper to shred leaves, branches, basically any organize material and spread it in my flower beds. The soil has turned from hard compacted clay into black crumpling soil.
Great video thank you for sharing I watched someone else set up video. Yet was wondering about the leaves 🍁. Great job 👏🏾 next I’m looking to find out using when wet. Oh lady bugs 🐞 ❤. We put our mulch in the chicken coops.
Yeah I get it! I had no idea at first and just cut every which way try to figure out a good method. Even hacking haha 😄. It was another RU-vidr I learned it from when looking into scything... Scythe Revolution, or something like that. Good luck!
@@narrowpathjourney “OneScytheRevolution” is the seller you’re thinking of… that’s where I bought my initial scythe setup: adjustable snath and brush blade. Then I later bought a longer grass/haying blade from “ScytheSupply”. They’re pretty much the only two Scythe dealers in the USA. 👍
Director: CUT! we’re going to have to reshoot, those army attack helicopters are way too noisy! We’re not shooting apocalypse now! You: What helicopters? And carry on like a pro….
I just bought one and it works well. However there is a restriction in the chute that only allows me to put in branches 2 1/2 inches id diameter. Got off the phone with customer service and they wanted some pictures so I sent that to them and am waiting on a reply.
That's interesting. perhaps I should actually measure branches I put in mine as well and show that. My machines chute came with a rubber covering we removed but nothing inside was restricting the size of the branches. Thanks for mentioning that!
I found a spray paint can that is just over 2 1/2 inches in diameter and it will not go through the chute. It is nor even 2 3/4 inches in diameter. I had taken the rubber covering off to see and also the whole chute off the machine. The bottom of the chute is 3 inches and the hole where the chipper blades are on the main machine is well over 3 inches. They are sending me a whole new chute so it will be interisting to see if the new one is any better. They did send by email a picture of one with a ruler, but it looks the same to me. Where the 2 pieces are welded together seems to be the problem.
@@ralphmowery2898 yes, I would say the welding is slightly off in mine too. In one of my videos I put the camera up close to the inside of the smaller chute to show the blade and it shows the welding is slightly off, now that you meantion it. That's alright the company got back to you though!
The new chute arrived very quick. Where the 2 pieces are welded together are slightly larger, but still way under 2 3/4 inches and my paint can will not go through it either. Sent them some email and they wanted some pictures so sent them some but have not received a reply
Cool. We just moved to Saskatchewan, and am currently shifting my thinking from a market garden on a few acres to life in the bush. Was on the verge of buying a much pricier attachment for our tractor, but since our Champion generator works awesome, I thought I'd see if they make a chipper. Which is how I found my way to looking for reviews on RU-vid. I can get the 224cc version locally, but I have to drive a bit further for the 338. Pretty sure the tractor option is out, thanks to these videos. Cheers.
It's one of our most used tools on our property. Any branches, the raspberry stalks at the end of the season, leaves, etc, we use it so much. The 338 is the same size just a bigger motor. It might go through dead/dry stuff a bit better but then also will wear the blades just the same. Either is good to have for sure and if you didn't need to purchase a more expensive tractor machine then thats good too! Thanks for stopping by! God bless and happy gardening!
@@narrowpathjourney I have a slot of dead stuff. This place wasn't occupied before my wife, children, and self landed here, for many years. Lots of dead fall we would rather not burn, but rather turn into mulch for trails and future gardens. Considering the amount of dead, and likely seasoned, branches, if you were buying for the first time, might you go for the more powerful engine? God bless you too. This is one glorious province, in my eyes.
@@FrankVaughan That's what we did did here with an uninhabited place tucked away haha 😄👍. A diamond in the rough is what we like to call it. We have about 3 acres though and plan to turn it all into a food forest type of thing. Trees down to shrubs then the ground coverage stuff and mostly all edible plants in between. So for us being without a tractor we're fine with this 224cc, at least for now.
That's awesome. Things are much better in this beautiful province than back East. Culture. Politics. More deer than people. I ended up grabbing the 338 cc just because it was roughly the same price. I drove the hour plus and the Prince Albert this morning, and drove back. I opened the box and the thing was almost comically damaged. Gas tank was crushed. The shoot was crushed. Like I said it was comical enough that I definitely laughed about it. But then I had to drive back... But they exchanged it no problem. Can't wait to give it a try tomorrow and get laying down some mulch. Super excited. I have watched a lot of reviews before making purchases on youtube, but this is the first time I think I've ran into somebody doing the same thing in the same place. That is pretty cool. God bless you all, and I look forward to checking out some of your other video work and seeing what you're growing.
