Shouldn't be necessary IMHO if you put the cocks on the airtap cluster in the right position after firing up the engine and if the mechanical airpump is working properly.

+Survivalist Well I guess people are less inclined to die racing nowadays, and i think with cars of the era mechanical sympathy would be needed when even when new, oh and the car is so valuable that racing at all is pretty cool

saving the car and enjoying race is way more important in this kind of classic racing car events than being the fastest.

Well you can't blame him, there's no way a Bugatti T51 could hold up against an ERA or Maserati single seater. He is probably driving as fast as he possibly could, only that the others really were so much faster than his car.

Another thing I found out. He is running on petrol. The other cars run on methanol, which gives them a lot more power.
